Looked up “best fish fry near me” and this place popped up! And it was so close to us, so we decided to give it a shot. Fish was delicious!! Service was great!! Atmosphere was pretty chill for a dive bar, a lot of places to sit so we had no issue there for a Friday night. We will definitely be back!

I stopped there after work with some co-workers for a couple beers. I was told they don’t accept cards (who doesn’t accept cards in 2026?) and I needed to take cash out at their ATM. The first bartender that said they don’t accept cards told me one price for a beer and when I got back another bartender told me a different price for the same beer. I’m sure they do excellent business but I will not go back. The giant nacho platter looked good though.

NEUTRAL – Update below…. Been here a few times over the last 50 years. The addition on the back is nice but they run it as a different entity so nothing transfers, like your drinks, between the old bar and new. Oh and maybe turn the heat on when the inside temp is 60 and dropping. Bartenders were friendly and quick, wish I had more cash on me to leave a bigger tip but more on that below.
Food menu looks like they pointed at a Sysco order form and said “give me one of everything”. I’m sure some of it is local but it’s a low percentage of the menu.
Most annoying is they only take cash which is only convient for the propietor who is looking to, well, you know, avoid reporting some things to that one 3 letter agency. And don’t give me that BS about processing fees, and not being fair to raise your prices a whopping 1-2% across the board to cover them, which isn’t fair to cash customers. I’m sure those fees that get collected by the ATM company, of which you most certainly get a part of, is fair to the customers that don’t carry much cash.
Update – Ope, I think I hit a nerve. I love how the owner wrote a paragraph that didn’t really deny anything, but proceeded to say how great the place is and how they are always packed for the fish fry. I’m sure they are busy on Fridays, but it is fish fry night in Wisconsin, so that’s a bit like saying there are mosquitoes in July. The night I was there, there were only about 15 other people, but hey, it was probably just a slow night. Anyway, Sysco, Reinhardt, whoever, you certainly are using a frozen food supplier that makes up 95% of your very bulky menu, but who it is wasn’t really the point. Anyway, happy to drive by in the future rather than spend money to line the pockets of businesses that see patrons with an opinion as a problem.

Ghost pepper burger with blueberry preserves and onion fries was good but not as spicy as you’d expect. Sweet potato fries were a nice addition. Great variety of beers on tap.

This Bar is a great place to stop at, especially for the fish fry alone. The waitresses were running to keep up, but they were super attentive of each others tables. Atmosphere was humming and full of life, enough room to support the people that were coming in. BUT KNOW THIS, it is cash or check only when paying for anything. It was a fun experience and will definitely be back.

Update. Stopped for fish last night. Sat out by the olde smoky stage and ate. Very nice. Will go back again. Staff and owner were very attentive go refilled drinks and asked if we needed anything.

Didn’t realize they didn’t server food past 9. Kinda my fault. Still ordered a drink and the lady was nice and was quick to serve. Left a tip. I intend on going back tomorrow.
