My nephew introduced me to Koromo for their delicious Tonkatsu. The Tonkatsu here at Koromo is crunchy and juicy. It comes with rice and cabbage.

The service was mediocre and considering the prices are on the high end.

If you’re looking for quality Katsu and Curry, this is the place!!!
Unlike some other local places around the island, the Katsu here is incredibly juicy, delicious, crunchy, and fresh. When it comes out to your table, it’s served on a wire rack so the oil can drip off and not be so soggy on the bottom. It’s served with Miso Soup, rice, and a platter of delicious goodies.
There is a patio so there is a lot of seating if the inside is full and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
I will say it is a little on the pricey side but for the amount you get, you can take some home and eat it as a bento the next day!

First time dining here and overall a solid experience! We arrived around 8 PM, but since Pearlridge Mall had already closed, getting into the restaurant was a bit confusing. There were no clear directions on how to enter after mall hours, so we waited by the doors until someone exiting let us in. The restaurant closes at 9 PM, so a heads-up with signage or instructions beforehand would’ve helped.

The place was still pretty packed, so we were seated at the high-top tables. We ordered the Pork Loin Katsu Teishoku, which came with miso soup, cabbage, rice, and a small veggie side. We also got the Pork Loin Katsu Curry with rice and side cabbage.

Now, the cabbage sauce, usually our favorite part, was different this time. The sesame dressing we usually crave was available at the counter, but it had a surprisingly sour kick that had my eye twitching with every bite. My spouse had the same reaction and ended up preferring the darker shoyu-based dressing, which had a more balanced, flavorful taste. Definitely not what we expected, but it worked out!

The curry was delicious hot, fresh, and satisfying. The pork loins were tender, juicy, and had minimal fat, which we really appreciated. We also tried a few side kushikatsu: mushroom, short rib, and zucchini. All crispy and tasty additions to the meal.

Service was attentive, with one staff member consistently checking in on all the tables. As we left, we noticed a sign by the backdoor near the lanai with instructions to use that gate for after-hours access. Wish we saw that earlier, but good to know for next time!

Surprisingly solid tonkatsu place in pearl ridge!

Food solid, service solid and atmosphere is decent. I like to go for lunch occasionally, either show right at 11am or reservations are recommended as it gets busy.

Food and service here were okay. The tonkatsu had nothing really special that impressed my palate and make me salivate for another serving. Small restaurant in Pearlridge mall downtown so tight space for group party. Please make reservations if you have party of 5 or more.

We had lunch at this spot, and if you’re a fan of curry and deep-fried dishes, this is definitely the place for you! They offer a variety of battered and fried options that are quite tasty. Additionally, they have a selection of beer to enjoy with your meal. The service was impressively fast, which was a nice bonus. The restaurant is relatively small and is conveniently located inside Pearlridge Mall, making it a great stop during your shopping trip.

Looove this place. All of workers are very friendly and helpful. Although they are super busy, they don’t take the day of reservations nor hard for us to get thru the phone, it’s really worth waiting for your seat. We were 5 of us and we walked in after 4 of us got together last time. The girl was very accommodating and made us a table altogether quickly. The server named Sho was very attentive and got our orders quickly and served our foods pretty quick too. Last time i had 240g Loin Katsu Teishoku n this time i had 4pc fillet katsu Teishoku. Both are very tender and juicy inside. I liked fillet more though and portion was generous too. My friends and I were talking about coming to eat here every week since it’s so yummy and there’s more menu to try out. I tasted my friend’s chicken katsu curry and it was very delicious too. Oh btw all you can eat shredded cabbage and rice with any Teishoku meal.

Curry dishes have a bit of spice but I love it that way. I think it’s amazing that the shredded cabbage can be refilled, I could eat that everyday and be filled/satisfied with my meal. Katsu dishes have a great crunch to them, definitely recommend the kushikatsu as additional side dishes to eat with the curry.

Koromo Katsu & Curry is an easy walk in (dine in) casual spot for great food!

It’s the first shop on the left, as soon as you enter the downtown mall auto open French doors from the parking lot.

It’s first come, first serve so we visited for a late lunch. We were excited for the lunch specials (11am-2pm) option and I ordered one of them.

Ordered the lunch specials Chicken Katsu+ebi fry with curry , came with rice (choice of brown or white), pickled veggies and cabbage. We also tried the (pork ) tonkatsu teishoku , came with miso soup, rice, daikon, kimchee daikon and cabbage.

What I like about this place is the cultural aspect. You can crush your own sesame seeds and add whichever tonkatsu sauce you prefer (tangy or “spicy” or both 🙂 mixed ) and it feels like you could be somewhere in Japan.

Highly recommend trying some kind of kushi-katsu (on a stick) and dip in the light sauce it comes with.

Looking forward to trying take out one of these days and seeing if the serving size and quality is the same

Taste 9/10, authenticity 8/10, service 9/10, atmosphere 8/10.
Overall the food was great. The tonkatsu(deep fried pork) and ebi(shrimp) were both fantastic. I also appreciated the great kushi katsu.
Most things you get here will be deep fried, so it is very approachable, even for picky eaters. However, don’t expect much variety in menu choices.
Even though some things were not 100% equivalent to in-country Japanese standards, they were close. My katsu came out in smaller individual fried pieces, rather than one large piece being cut into smaller ones. While the rice and cabbage were all you can eat, the miso soup was not. The tsuskemono were not your typical Japanese pickles, the most obvious being kimchi. Also, the kushi katsu we’re somewhat light on the batter, but still paired well with the sauce. The kushi katsu choices were all authentic, which I was very happy to see.
Outside of these narrow deviations, this restaurant stays true to authenticity. However, most importantly I can’t fault it on the taste.
