Place had a steady flow of local people coming for take out, probably because its prices are still quite cheap. $16 for two people. Food was adequate, but not really tasty. Only non fast food place open in town on a Monday morning though. Lady at counter was unfriendly. Other two staff members were friendly, but seemed a bit afraid of her. Bathroom was absolutely filthy, don’t even want to think of the state of the kitchen. Appears to be for sale.

A rare and special diner. They don’t make ’em like this anymore. The decor and convo you hear in there makes it perfect.

Well this is definitely not The Ritz, but if you want a good southern style breakfast for very little money, this is your spot. Hours are very limited, I don’t think they are open on the weekend, and I think they closed at 10:30 am on day we went (Monday). However you can get 2 eggs (any style), bacon or sausage, grits and toast for < $5. They also have a good selection of omelets, pancakes and other breakfast foods. Service is a little slow as the is only one rather elderly waitress and probably only 2 or possibly 3 employees the times I have been there. Don’t ask for a latte or anything fancy here, but you will probably get a good meal that won’t dent your wallet.

Used to love this place. Now it is just not good. I got a tomato biscuit, tomato was not the slightest bit ripe, biscuit wasn’t done and had to be a frozen one. It is awful when Burger Kings frozen biscuits is better than a moms and pops diner!

These ladies are awesome. Food is always good and the service is friendly. It amazes me how they can still give such a good price in today’s world. Highly recommend

Open Mon-Fri 7:00am-10:30am-ISH only, regardless of what the “hours” posted on google* (or their front door & drive thru window) say. And I wouldn’t count on that, either — I pulled up to the drive thru on a recent weekday at about 10:20am to see if I could snag a quick breakfast plate. The neon “open” sign on the front door was still lit, but the drive thru had a “closed” sign in it, and the owner who staffs the window confirmed the answer was “no”. No big deal; I have learned not to have high expectations here, so I was not disappointed — just meant I had to drive a little further to grab a late breakfast that day.
*The two elderly ladies who run the joint are nice enough, and probably don’t hardly know what google is, much less how to update something. I don’t mean that in a derogatory way at all; just matter-of-fact: the Internet Age has not reached this Korner of Hartwell. My guess is, several years ago a helpful internet-savvy patron set up the google profile for the restaurant so people would know where to find ‘em, and that was that.
The food is OK, not bad, not the best. It’s quick and inexpensive.
The restaurant was decorated in the 1960s or 70s. It’s clean and serviceable, but if you’re looking for modern, you’re in the wrong place. No wifi.
The regular patrons are friendly and considerate.
It Is What It Is. Enjoy!

Had the country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and cabbage. Mashed potatoes did not have any flavor they just tasted like water but the cabbage was awesome.

A small mom and pop restaurant with really good prices and decent food for the price.
Haven’t had their lunch yet, but breakfast is solid and quick.

Keep moving on down the road! People are rude and food is just so so. Cash only.
Place is stuck in the 50s. It’s 2022 everyone should accept cards.
