Love this place. It is a hidden gem in the foothills of the Berkshire mountains, tucked away in the beautiful college town of Williamstown. This place is run by a lovely couple who are always smiling and check on you, so they make you feel at home. The food is amazing, lots of vegan options, we have never had trouble finding tofu options. The entree portions are generous and well-balanced, in that, the food comes with pickled veggies and sometimes miso soup. Would definitely recommend as a lunch stop.

Here’s a more descriptive version:

We had an amazing experience at Korean Garden! The dishes we tried – DUKPOKI, PA JUN, TROPICAL ROLL, VEGETABLE TEMPURA, KANGPOONGKI, KIMCHI BOKUM, and TOBIKO NIGIRI – were bursting with authentic Korean flavors and freshness. The sides, especially the kimchi bokum and pickled veggies, stole the show with their bold flavors. If you’re a fan of Korean cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

This gem checks every box for the full experience. Not to mention the view from the window seat is the berkshire hills. I love this place!

What a surprise to find this place in a non-descript mini strip mall. The place I was staying at, Williamstown Motel, in fact, recommended this little restaurant and I’m glad I went. If you stay at the motel, it’s only 500 feet away which is about a 5 minute walk. I recommend that you walk a little farther to the crosswalk as there’s a better chance that cars will actually stop to let you cross. The restaurant is a tiny place with 7 tables but I didn’t at all feel squished. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap and wow, so good and the perfect size for a single serving. Of course you get some sides, which is what I love about Korean food.

I never expected such a good Korean restaurant at Williamstown. Such a tasty food with excellent service. The Yakisoba was the best.

So I didn’t particularly like what I ordered. But I’m picky as ish so take it with a grain of salt. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food so I gave it a 4⭐ for food. Service was prompt and courteous. Our some how just disappeared and reappeared right when we needed her! The Asian decor was definitely up there. Over all a good experience

We were happy to discover this cozy restaurant with kind staff and plentiful portions.
We ordered dishes on the plainer side because of dietary needs. I ordered agedashi tofu with bonito flakes, oshitashi spinach, steamed broccoli for dinner. The taste was fresh and good, portions were generous. I was pleasantly surprised to automatically receive Korean banchan side dishes of pickled cucumber, bean thread, marinated potatoes, and seasoned broccoli. My partner ordered the chicken teriyaki. While the teriyaki seasoning was very mild, it was perfect for the GERD diet, and she was very happy. The chicken teriyaki was tender white breast meat on a bed of cabbage, carrot, and broccoli.
Next time, I would order from the Korean side of the menu or Japanese dishes like tonkatsu as those dishes appeared to be very popular based on my observations of happy eaters at other tables.

Korean Garden – A Hidden Gem in The Shire

Korean food has always been one of my go-to cuisines when hunger strikes. But let’s be honest—finding a great Korean spot can be tough in some areas. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon Korean Garden, a true hidden gem tucked away in The Shire.

As usual, I walked in absolutely starving and ready to indulge. We were warmly greeted by a sweet ajumma at the door and seated by the front window. The place was small and cozy, with only a handful of tables—just the kind of spot that usually means home-cooked goodness.

I ordered my usual favorites: Galbi, Bulgogi, and Spicy Udon Soup. My Korean came in handy and made ajumma smile when I told her I had lived in Munsan for a few years. She lit up, introduced herself and her husband, and we had a lovely chat. I mentioned I’d be relocating to The Shire soon and that they’d be seeing a lot more of me.

The banchan came out first—and wow, we got a generous variety. They even asked if we’d like refills (dangerous question for someone like me). Each one was fresh and flavorful—if I wasn’t careful, I could have emptied their fridge.

When our mains arrived, everything looked (and tasted) amazing. The portions were big enough that I needed a takeout bag—which means lunch tomorrow is covered too!

I’ll definitely be back. Warm, soulful food. Kind, welcoming owners. Cozy atmosphere. Just the kind of comfort you need when living near the mountains.

2.5. Nothing special. Food doesn’t particularly have a lot of flavor which is unfortunate and disappointing. Nice menu selection, everyone can definitely find something they like. Inside is small and janky. Service is abrupt and a little slow. Probably wouldn’t come again but there also isn’t much else in the area to be honest.
