Reviews
Just like in a Korean restaurant, they served ten different side dishes, and you could even get one free refill.
Highly recommended!
Galbi came on hot iron plate with cabbage. About four ribs cut into pieces. Taste is good but I think they used meat tenderizers. If you have been reading my reviews before I am against this practice which is common in Asian restaurants. It takes away the texture of the protein. Other than that, I will be happy to return to try other dishes.
The people who work there are very nice and accommodating. We really liked the place. Planning to come back.
I believe this restaurant has the one of the best combinations of service, value and good food out of all in Contra Costa County! We go about twice a month – even though we travel 35 minutes to get there.
OK, to the food. I love the side dishes — undoubtedly the benchmark I use to judge any Korean restaurant. There are 4-5 less side dishes than there were when the original owner ran it, but more than previous owners who took over after her. I love the ones served.
You get a huge serving of fresh high quality meat with the lunch Bento box and the price is a great deal. Dinner is quite a bit more costly so why not try lunch? I get the beef ribs but the spicy pork is also good. They have added a salad with a dynamite dressing and you still get a plate of simple but delicious yam noodles. You get lettuce to wrap the food in at dinner without even asking or paying extra. Year round i find my favorite dishes.
Recently some new waitresses have come aboard and I hope they end up as nice as the ones I have had in the last few years. (boy did the original mamasan know how to work a crowd and please her guests).
Please never skimp on stuff like rice, lettuce, meat portions, and refills of sidedishes and you will get the loyalty of repeat business and word of mouth from your customers. I have taken about 12 different people there who have never had Korean food and each one loved it and wanted to return. Go there soon and often! You will NOT regret it.
I had beef galbi, pork galbi and seafood tofu soup. It had the fire grilled flavour in the meat which is hard to come by these days. They also had good variety selection of side dishes (banchan). Plenty of seating for large groups as well. Would definitely come by again!
