First, the poutine was made with sweet potato fries. Was not indicated on the menu or in the ordering website. I like sweet potato fries… but not in poutine.
The pulled chicken was ok, maybe a tad salty. But the “carolina” sauce was just some mustard they maybe added a little vinegar to. Very disappointed in that. Ended up adding the regular bbq and tiger sauce to it instead.
The hotdog and fries was fine, as was the pit beef. Pit beef was a bit dry, was hoping for a better experience my first time with this Baltimore staple.
The cornbread wasn’t that great either. Very sweet and smelled and tasted of onions. I guess they keep it in the same fridge with cut onions.
Overall, wouldn’t get from this location again. Or if we did, we’d get less exciting stuff like regular fries, etc.
Garlic Truffle French Fries are usually awesome and smell even better.
Chicken wings have been a reliably good option.
Cheese Curds: They appear to have solved the super spicy vs. bland issue by removing all spice from the curds and putting it into the creamy dipping sauce instead.
Besides the above, the food has been pretty bad. One time a friend’s burger smelled rancid and she didn’t trust it so she threw it out. I’ve had one burger undercooked and another burger a bit dry, just tossed together with precooked, dry bacon that they couldn’t bother to arrange evenly (pic).
Veggie burgers cook differently than meat burgers. This cook is not aware. Wife usually sends her burger back to be cooked further. Just wasting your time and ours.
I had a gyro (pic) which they served like a quesadilla, weird. Meat was overcooked n the sauce was just in the middle not spread around. The cook does not know what a gyro is supposed to be.
Also had seafood gumbo (pic) it was cold. They need a microwave!!! Whatever uppity chef started this trend of “real kitchens don’t have microwaves” is an idiot. You can’t keep a vat of soup at temperature all day, the meat will dry out and flavors over blend. The best way to reheat cold soup is a microwave unless you have all day to monitor the temperature of every single bowl.
After soup was warmed up it was better but everything tasted the same regardless if it was a bite of chicken or shrimp. Not ordering again.
Loco potato wedges (pic) JUN2023 were actually quite good. A lot of melted cheese which was necessary to cover the large wedges.
“buffalo burger, so it’s ‘cow safe’!”
“OMG, an ice cream sandwich that’s bigger than our heads!!”
[the service is REALLY good for a food truck, the food rocks (get the fries ‘crispy’) and the prices are fair. the only ding is for ‘Atmosphere’ but that’s purely because… well, how much ambience can a food truck bring?]
“tell ‘em Kenny n’ Bob sent you!”
“yeah, tell we said ‘yo!’”
