Excellent Catfish (lightly fried and steamed). Great Jerk Chicken. Great Sweet Potato Fries. Great Rice and Beans. Refreshing natural juice (frozen lemonade). Nice service. Cool atmosphere. Convenient location. Parking garage to the left is free to park on the weekends.

We drove quite a distance to try out this place, and it was worth it. The young man who took our order was polite and made us feel welcomed. We ordered oxtail and fried chicken, and everything was tasty. The prices reflect the economy, but you get your money’s worth. The portion sizes are huge, and mi nevah get so much oxtail pan mi plate at a restaurant! Also, the fried chicken is the best we’ve had. The food is well-seasoned and fresh. I am picky with Jamaican food since I cook my own. The reviews nah lie with Koolrunin…

This was by far the best service and friendliest family business that I have ever experienced. The chef came out to personally greet us and even offered us a sample to taste the different flavors. I had the veggie alfredo pasta with the fried chicken added. It was hands-down the tastiest pasta I’ve had. The sauce was just slightly sweet in the best ways. HUGE portions that made about three meals. I will be sure to return when visiting Jeff City in the future.

If you’ve never had Jamaican food and you’re from the Midwest, this is a great place to start. The flavors are more muted, and there’s no spice. If you’ve had Jamaican food, this place falls short. The decor/atmosphere reminds me a lot of the restaurants in the Caribbean but the music was lacking. You got blasted with it at the door and then it kinda just echoed through the building. The staff were helpful but not very responsive. The good was good but muted. I got the curry chicken and it was nice but much more subtle than I’m used to, especially for Jamaican food.

The flavors are legit. Asked them to make me cry with the heat, but they kindly refused as it was my first time. Still they got the sinuses running with jerk chicken. Will be back to try the curried goat on a weekend, maybe they’ll remember me and turn the heat up to 11. Best food downtown, hands down.

The food was awesome, and less spicy than you think for a Jamaican business. Even my Missouri born mom asked for a bit of pepper spice. Food is a bit pricey, but is worth every penny because it’s made by a lovely couple and they are so welcoming. The portions are generous, and you could easily have lunch and dinner w one serving.

The food here is amazing! And being from New York it has been hard to find food that compares to the food out there. But this restaurant has met all my expectations. And the potato salad was so good I went for seconds. I recommend the passion mango ginger juice. This restaurant is a must try!
