They have Jamaican drinks too. I had a soursop drink.
OH MY! Check this place OUT! The flavor is OFF THE CHAIN!
When you get rice or rice and peas, they offer you the Oxtail gravy. Do yourself a favor and GET IT!! Soo tasty! They even have Jamaican imported sodas! The owner is friendly and the spot is slightly small, but great tunes and atmosphere. They have limited parking so beware of that.
Go early so they don’t run out of yams and mac like they had the day we went. We’re coming back early next time to make sure we get to try it!
Thank you for the hospitality and memories.
Here are my ratings:
Oxtail: 8/10
Mac n cheese: 10/10
Plantain: 7/10
The prices are high for what you get. Really high. Sat down to eat and couldn’t finish my food. Nothing but hard stems in the greens greens aren’t supposed to crunch or be rock hard. The chicken and greens i could’ve made at home. Got jerk chicken but the sauce was in a cup like for dipping and the chicken was dry as a bone. Thats the driest chicken I ever had. The macaroni had good flavor but was a gloppy hard mess I had to use a knife to cut Mac n cheese. I went based on reviews and usually it’s never open when I go even if Google says it is. I actually thought they shut down. I m really glad I didn’t get $30 ox tail. What went to get they didnt have. I can cook ox tail and alot of stuff on the menu.
Ive had alot of the same foods from different places. Not Jamaican. Honestly that was the absolute worst chicken and greens I’ve ever eaten in my life. Not worth the money I spent or the time. Extremely disappointed. Ox tail isnt cheap I know. I buy it i cook it it use to be poor ppl food so I grew up on ox tail, goat , all kinds of greens all kinds of foods. Especially coming from a highly multi cultural family. I wouldn’t have minded $30 oxtail cooked differently than im use i love trying new stuff out. Maybe they had an off day i dont know. Idk how you mess up greens and mac n cheese though. I’ve had better greens from a can. Meat dries out the longer it sits so im wondering exactly how old the unsauced chicken was. It was really dry.
The store seemed clean in the lobby and the cashier was nice and polite. I wont be back though
Not after seeing feet near food no hair nets no gloves. Thats just gross. At least she wore a hat.
I got the jerk chicken, rice&peas and collard greens. Everything cooked to perfection.
Great people, great service.
You looking for a hidden gem… this is it. GO.
