DO NOT EAT HERE!! This was the WORST African food I’ve ever had in my life!! ILL NEVER EAT HERE
Again!!

We spent a $100 and waited about 40 minutes on bs!

He lied and said the fufu was pounded yam and it was instant fufu out the box! Literally tasted like mashed potatoes and this is coming from someone married to an African man!! So I know what pounded yam feels like and tastes like. Down to the texture!

Secondly he didn’t give me what I ordered, he gave me what he wanted me to have! I asked for beef Egusi soup and received turkey that was so salty I couldn’t even eat it!! Such a waste of money!!

If you want a box full of jollif rice, eat here because that’s what you’re paying for. Every entree had a tiny piece of fish but loads of rice! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

I ordered my food, let my family taste it and we immediately went back to order more. The egusi soup and fufu are delicious. The customer service is great as well. We will definitely be returning to this place.

I delivered from Uber eats from them this week. This place is a dream come true. They have SO many items I’ve never been able to get anywhere else. It was a delight to finally see some food without the same basic flavors

My food was delicious, fresh with good portions. The wait time was a little long today but everything was fresh. They have a nice stock of herbs in powders and leaves.

I really liked the cleanliness of the restaurant & it seemed family friendly. That being said, it was a little sterile. There was no music playing and I expected to feel emerged in an West African type of experience. I had the couscous & chicken. The food had generous portions of couscous and fresh vegetables, but the chicken didn’t seem to be marinated in the sauce (which there wasn’t enough of). The waitress was nice & brought me my water, but never came by my table to refill my drink or to ask how the food was. I hope they expand their menu and add items like chicken yasa, provide Maggi sauce, or popular African deserts. I will definitely give this restaurant another chance and maybe try another dish.

The rice akara is a must have!! The couscous and fish were great as well! I asked for extra sauce. I cant tell you what it is, but it’s served with EVERYTHING! lol Service was fast and friendly. After eating 2 appetizers and an entree, we still need up taking 2 rice akaras to go! We will be returning!!

***Update***
My new favorite are the cassava leaves today I decided to dine in, AND take some to-go

Kontiki is an amazing restaurant! My husband and I got married on the 1st of January and we really wanted to cater to both of our cultures. It helped that Kontiki has some amazing dishes that all of our friends loved. We had catered Oxtails, Beef Stew, and Jollof Rice!! When I say the food was fresh and piping hot!! The owners accommodated us where they would have normally been closed! To say I’m satisfied is a lie because we were Overly Satisfied!! Thank you guys for making our day special and being professional!
With love

I went there for the oxtails no rice I received two oxtails one really small one and one mid size with soup around it in a small container for 22 dollars I asked was that it he stated oxtails are expensive, He was rude and service was very slow. That was my first and last time every visiting.

Went with a group of 4 on a Sunday evening, wasn’t very crowded. The menu is small with some daily specials listed on a board inside. We tried the lamb pepper soup, meat skewers, fried plantains, and rice akara for appetizers. For mains we ordered the peanut butter soup, ox tail stew, fufu with okra, and jollof rice with beef stew. The akara and plantains were good, but the meat skewers and pepper soup were amazing. The pepper soup is very spicy, but really well seasoned. All of the mains were really well prepared and full of west African spice. The okra tasted good, but I’m just not a fan of the texture of stewed okra (a bit slipperly/slimy). The atmosphere was really relaxed and comfortable, the service was friendly, and generally a fun place to eat. Try the ginger beer if you really like ginger, it was def stronger than ginger beer I’ve bought from kroger. Will definitely come back
