Wow! What a wonderful culinary adventure! We stuck to the nigiri and everything was delicious and so creative. I love when chefs get creative with their sauces on nigiri, but I had never had Texan flavors fused with sushi before. Can’t wait to go back! (And my drink from the Papercut bar was also excellent!)

Experiencing Tare’s omakase about 6 months back has inevitably brought me straight to Konbini as soon as I heard about it. Same expertise & quality food. We had the Cucumber Salad, Egg Sando (chef’s kiss), Kanpachi Nigiri, Sea Bream Nigiri, and Striped Jack Nigiri (flavor explosion). There wasn’t a single item that we didn’t enjoy thoroughly.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try the Kinmedai Nigiri (sold out), A5 Wagyu Nigiri, and Potato Salad Sando (not on menu atm). Plus we didn’t try the O Toro Nigiri this time around bc we already knew how outstanding it was from Tare. However, we will certainly be back to try all these items and more. This spot will certainly be in my limited sushi rotation from now on.

What a gem! This place truly has it all. The atmosphere is elevated by the really cool art that gives it a unique, stylish vibe.
We started with their signature cocktails, which were absolutely great—creative, balanced, and strong. For food, the fresh sashimi was a standout; it melted in your mouth and was clearly of the highest quality.
The real highlight, however, was the excellent service. A flawless experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I tried quite a few of their sushi. Individually, I enjoyed the mexico-influenced flavors–kind of like eating super fresh ceviche that was cut like sushi. All together though some sushi blew out my palate, then I enjoyed the next bite less. Notably the tsukemono, which is traditionally meant to be a palate cleanser, was an overwhelming acid and spice. Again, I’m all for fun flavors, but in sushi, I prefer to have my palate in tact to really appreciate the subtlety of the incredibly fresh fish that konbini serves and I was paying for.
The fish was incredibly fresh.

Kobini was amazing! My boyfriend and I went around 11:30 and the sushi area in the back had ample room. The staff was very kind and informative when asking about sake and food pairings. The sushi itself was delicious and each one had it own unique flavor or pairing. Jeremiah is a sake sommelier and his recommendations were perfect! Rinaldo and his other chiefs were very helpful and excellent food recommendations . We would definitely go again!

We were absolutely disappointed with the service during our visit. The restaurant seemed understaffed, and the server helping us was clearly overwhelmed. After being seated, no one came to our table for almost 20 minutes. When our drink order was finally taken, it took an unusually long time to arrive.
To make matters worse, our waiter changed midway. The new server took orders from only half the table and walked away, leaving the rest of us waiting another 10–15 minutes until we had to ask someone to come take the remaining orders. Drinks for two people were completely forgotten, and some food items never arrived. We were even brought a dish we did not order.
The food itself was underwhelming. The sushi was just alright—not at all worth the long wait. The O-toro and A5 Wagyu didn’t meet the quality we expected.
The one thing we genuinely enjoyed was the drinks—they were well made and tasted great. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the overall experience.
Overall, the visit fell far below expectations, both in service and food quality. Definitely not worth the time or price.
