Tried this place for the first time tonight. Will definitely be back to try more! This is a local neighborhood BBQ spot. No frills, just damn good food and personable service. Various types of seating available inside and out. I tried the dark chicken dinner with mac and cheese and collard greens and the pineapple tea. The flavors were amazing for everything. I was licking my fingers, lol. The sauce that comes on the chicken has a little spicy kick from behind but it was extremely tasty. My friend got the chopped pork sandwich with the same sides and drink. Our only critique was that the food could’ve been a little hotter. But even with that being said, we were still very happy with it and can’t wait to come back! There’s a discount if you pay with cash instead of card.

I was recommended this place by my barber, and I decided to go there on my birthday last Saturday. Going there was worth it, and so was the money. The prices are good. I ordered a half slab of ribs with a large side of mac and cheese, and a lemonade. The ribs were really good, although the meat was a bit on the tougher side, which I feel will vary from person to person. It might be harder for some. I was surprised and thoroughly impressed with the mac and cheese—very good. And the lemonade was good, too. Now, the reason why I gave this place four stars is because they only had one BBQ sauce, Carolina Gold. Bonus: I couldn’t finish all of the food, so I ate the leftovers the next day, and it tasted even better to me warmed up. Overall, I don’t regret my decision to go here for my birthday. I’d go back.

I was given a strong recommendation by a traveler to visit Konan’s BBQ. My wife and I are glad we listened. Although the site was only a few miles away, getting there during rush hour can be a bit of a pain. It was worth the effort. There’s a parking lot, but the popularity of this place causes you to park on the street.
We ordered 4 meat plates just to sample the cooking. We had ribs, sausage, chopped/pulled pork, and chicken. The BBQ sauce wasn’t your typical tomato based; they had what seemed to be a Carolina Gold. I tried the Baked Beans and Collard Greens; my wife had the Mac & Cheese and Potato Salad. The flavor was great; the temperature of the greens was cooler than the others.
Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere were great. The pricing if the entrées guarantees that we will be patronizing this fellow greek member each time we visit the Tampa area.

Pork ribs had awesome flavor and texture. Tried sauce separately as wanted to taste smoke and rub…was not disappointed
Mac n cheese and green made with like your grandma made them
Sauce was a mustard based with just a slight kick
As I walked out to leave owner invited me out back to see his bbq station… so much pride and love goes into his art…

First timer today. I asked ChatGpt for the best local BBQ spot. It recommended Konan’s. I had the bbq chicken dinner (dark) with collards and potato salad. I also ordered a extra side of baked beans and mac-n-cheese. My son’s meal was chicken as well– white meat. My son’s friend had the chopped pork sandwich.
Generous portions. Meat was flavorful– the sauce..oh, my :)!! Sides were delicious. Takeout service was friendly and prompt. Ample parking. I’ll definitely go back– it is worth the drive from Valrico.

Definitely the place for amazing bbq! A must have everytime I’m in Tampa. Perfectly smoked and full of flavor meats. The bbq sauce is amazing! Trig rice, as well as all of the sides, is the perfect accompaniment! I recommend Konan Bbq if your mouth is watering for amazing BBQ. Damn good! Obviously well loved and for good reason. We were looking for local non-chain BBQ and trusted the reviews, so glad we did! Got the thin ends and rib dinners. The green beans and greens are delicious along with the rice and mac & cheese. Seasoned to perfection. We went back two days later and I almost cried because they are closed on Mondays. You will crave it! We can’t wait to visit again!

Don’t sleep on this unassuming BBQ joint just off the highway in Carver City. After half a dozen visits, I can assure you the bbq and sides are legit! Don’t miss out on the sweets or the pineapple tea either. My go tos are the ribs, chopped pork sandwich, red velvet cake, & collards. The BBQ has a nice crust, moderate smoke ring and perfect mouth feel. Paired with the house mustard sauce and you’ll know you’re in the midst of greatness.
