Love the food and the portion sizes. The fried chicken and the pork was great. Fries were crispy.

Don’t let the sad, dirty entrance at the Seattle location scare you away, Kona Kitchen has the best comfort food, we’ve been eating here since 2002 and still love it. Just wish someone would put some love into the entrance.

I really love it here. The portions are generous on every dish. Da kanak has at least four different meats on it for you to try. I seem to have forgotten to take a picture because I ate so fast. The menu has something for everyone. The service was very friendly and informative. Great place to meet friends.

One of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve had in the Seattle area.

I’ve lived in the Seattle area for nearly ten years, and this was hands down one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had.

The fried rice arrived cold, not lukewarm—actually cold—especially the rice on top, which is simply unacceptable for a freshly served hot dish. Worse, it had a noticeably off, stale taste. I can’t say which ingredient caused it, but the overall flavor was not fresh and made my stomach feel uncomfortable after eating it.

The bacon was also very poor in texture and flavor. The toast was fine, but that was the only acceptable part of the meal.

Service was equally disappointing. While every other table in the restaurant was served proper coffee mugs, we were given paper cups, which immediately felt careless and inconsistent.

Despite all of this, I still left a 10% tip, because I believe in being fair. However, that does not change the fact that this breakfast was deeply unsatisfying, both in food quality and service.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience genuinely fell far below expectations.

I visited Kona Kitchen for the first time this past December based on the enthusiastic recommendation from a co-worker, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Kalua pig quesadilla (huge) and 2 spam musubis to go, dropping off half of the quesadilla with my son at college and taking the rest home. Everyone loved the quesadilla and my husband (who is from the Big Island) appreciated the quality and size of the musubis. The employee who brought me the takeout order was helpful and friendly. I would definitely eat here again.

It’s far too slow. We were seated in five minutes. From there, 15 minutes to order and then 41 to get our food. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, especially for a Saturday night. We were very close to walking out

The employees were nice enough, but they were very nonresponsive

Food was bland, which was surprising after all the reviews. The clubhouse sandwich was plain and completely disintegrated, and the mashed potatoes and mac salad both tasted like they came from a grocery store counter

I’ll say that the Portuguese sausage and beef (from Da Kanak Attack) were both good, but I have no intentions of ever returning

Surprising, honestly, since they I’ve had a fine experience at the Lynnwood location

Such a fun, cute place. Nice to get a taste of Hawaii so close to home. Had about 15 minute wait when we went on Friday night around 7. Moco Loco, Chantilly cake, kalua pulled pork, mac salad, katsu pork, all so good! Comfort food for sure! There is parking on the road and behind the restaurant. The cake slices are big enough to share (but they are so good, you may not want to!). We love eating here when we are on this side of town.

I give this place a 4.7.
Finally, we made it to this restaurant! When I heard who owned the restaurant, I was sold immediately! First impressions, amazed by the history, the photos of different celebrities that visited this location, and the different art that was given to the restaurant. The only downfall is the place can use some cleaning. The table we sat at has a plant next to it, and it was caked in dust. Other than that, the service was good, and the vibe was chill. Now the food, damn the food was amazing. Also, the positions….lol well let’s just say, I hope you’re hungry. Good size positions and flavors are to die for.
Today, my girl got the Lau Lau plate, I picked the build your own Loco moco, which consisted of fried rice, spam, hamburger patty, and gravy. Omg, the banana wrapped pork was amazing. Pork was supper tender and just melts. The Loco moco was super good. The fried rice alone was supper good. For dessert, we got the guava cake and haupia cake. Omg, again, super good. The guava cake you can tell the guava spread was made fresh. The haupia cake had a nice subtle, but yet nice flavor,
Overall, we love this place, and plan to visit the other location 🙂

Two thumbs up. So many items on the menu I’d like to try. If you want some Hawaiian inspired food this is the place to come.

Both of our dishes we ordered were fabulous and flavorful. It took a good 20minutes for our food to arrive and the portions were a good size. Don’t want Macaroni salad? You can sub for veggies. We thought a Tues night would be slow but they were relatively busy for their dinner service. The place seems like it could use some TLC but it’s still cute and a humble set up.

The staff were also great, quite attentive and friendly. Made some great recommendations:) We came here to celebrate a birthday and it was lovely.
Ps. They do run out of their cakes so they don’t always have dessert

We ordered the Lau Lau Plate and the build your own Loco Moco. The Lau Lau pork was moist and delicious. The Lomi salmon and Mac salad are also delicious. We ordered the Loco Moco with fried rice, burger patty, spam, egg, and gravy. The combo was to die for. Portions were a reasonable size and we ended up with leftovers. We also ordered a piece of guava cake which was layered to perfection, moist, and had a delightful guava taste, it was not overly sweet. We also ordered a piece of haupia cake, I am not familiar with this cake version, I am only familiar with the Filipino hopia. This did not take away from the light and airy vanilla cake and light melt-in-your-mouth coconut frosting. The servers were attentive and quick. The entire establishment was busy.

The only unfortunate part was the cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant. There was a heavy layer of dust on the faux plants hanging over our table, decor, and window coverings, the paneling was breaking that lined the walls, and the carpet and flooring were clearly in need of replacing/repairing/or cleaning, the bathroom (womens), had cobwebs coming from the ceilings and a layer of dust on top of everything. It’s as though only the tables and chairs and counters tops were being regularly cleaned. For a restaurant this busy, it’s just unfortunate to see it in this state. I did not post photos as I didn’t want to take away from the delicious food. This did cause a reduction in stars.
