After coming across this restaurant online and noticing its strong ratings, I was genuinely looking forward to giving it a try. Upon arrival, the atmosphere did not disappoint. The ambiance was inviting, well-designed, and comfortable. The service was equally impressive—staff members were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening.

Unfortunately, the meal itself fell far short of expectations.

I ordered the surf and turf, anticipating a satisfying combination of steak and lobster. However, the steak was cut so thin that it was reminiscent of something you might expect from a casual diner rather than a restaurant positioning itself as a premium dining experience. The portion lacked the substance and quality typically associated with this classic dish.

The lobster tail was even more disappointing. It was noticeably small—so much so that it was difficult to justify it as a true lobster tail portion. The size and presentation did not align with the expectations set by the menu description or the establishment’s reputation.

While the atmosphere and service were commendable, the food itself did not meet the standard implied by the reviews or pricing. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas—but unfortunately, that was not reflected on this plate.
$260 WASTED!!!!

Respectfully,
A visitor from California

My bestie and I went to El Paso from Carlsbad for the day. We chose to eat here. God places us where we need to be that’s for sure. The service from the door to the table was excellent. The manager is a gem. our server was a gem , Aishah was not only stunning, she was full of culture, intellect, confidence, knowledge, dedication, determination, difference. We will serve back! The food was amazing! The seaweed, cucumber salad with the vinaigrette under the tuna is addictive. The avocado egg rolls are delicious with the sauce. I think they should offer either breast of grilled boneless, skinless chicken thighs with the cilantro chicken, because breasts even thinned get dry. Dark meat is more flavorful, and with the turmeric rice it would be fire.

I love the refined, yet relaxed vibe. The food is served timely, and in healthy portions. My current picks are the shrimp tempura, Kona calamari, and the sushi rolls. Dining here is always decidedly enjoyable, as the service is friendly, and top-notch, especially from Nicole, Jackie, Andrea & Alexa. Definitely, one of my favorite restaurants in El Paso. I’m actually planning to come back for dinner tonight!

Ordered 2 Big island ribeyes, an order of edamame, an order of potstickers, an order of spicy shrimp tempura, 2 kids cheeseburger meals(missing oranges, they said their produce truck didn’t come yet), California roll & the spicy tuna roll. I honestly think the food was mid. Definitely not worth the prices we paid. Staff was friendly & attentive. Giving a 3 because the food or prices could’ve been better.

The portions are very small. The appetizers are not meant for sharing, they are individual portions. The food is good, but the price is very expensive. There were four of us and we paid $300, which I thought was excessive. We ordered meat and the pieces were very small and few; I didn’t like it. The service was good, they didn’t get my husband’s drink order wrong.

Nice atmosphere and excellent service. We ordered apps of the happy hour menu and wangyu fried rice from the full menu. Would prefer different lettuce for the wraps, something crisper like maybe butter or iceberg. Overall, everything was great!

We visited Kona Grill last night for Valentine’s for our first time last night. As expected the restaurant would be full, & although the time we were sat surpassed the reservation time, the Manager Cintia ensured we had a great experience while we waited! We were served complimentary champagne, & appetizers which was a sweet unexpected surprise. Thank you Cintia, & Kona for a beautiful evening! Will definitely be visiting again.

We decided to skip the kitchen chaos this year and try Kona Grill for Thanksgiving dinner. Best decision we made all month.

From the moment we walked in, everything clicked. The host team was warm and welcoming (zero trace of the holiday rush stress you’d expect), and our server was flat-out excellent: attentive without hovering, genuinely enthusiastic about the specials, and timed everything perfectly. The vibe inside was upscale yet relaxed (sleek modern décor, soft lighting, chill music); festive enough for the holiday but never cheesy.

The special Thanksgiving menu was way more creative than the usual turkey-and-stuffing suspects. The star was the Macadamia Nut Turkey: tender roasted turkey breast coated in a crunchy macadamia crust, served with a light passion fruit glaze that sounds wild but absolutely works. It’s the perfect blend of island flair and holiday comfort. The ribs (yes, ribs on Thanksgiving) were fall-off-the-bone perfect, glazed in that signature Kona BBQ sauce with just the right sweet-smoky balance. Sides were on point too: creamy mashed potatoes, crisp green beans, and a killer pineapple jalapeño cornbread stuffing that I’m still thinking about.

Portions were generous, cocktails were strong (the spiced pumpkin margarita was dangerously good), and the dessert menu tempted us hard, but we were happily stuffed.

Kona Grill turned what could have been just a convenient holiday meal into a legit dining highlight. If you want excellent service, creative food that still feels festive, and a beautiful environment that makes the holiday feel special without the dishes afterward, book it next year. We’re already

Isaac, wasn’t just a server—he was our captain for the evening, launching us into a galaxy of amazing drinks and flawless service. His attention to detail and friendly attitude were light-years beyond the norm. 10/10 would board his ship again!”

It had been a long day and I we were just looking for a place to remove all that stress and this was just the right place. The vibes here are amazing, calm enough to relax but not enough to fall asleep. Food was great as well. Laura was amazing as well, she kept checking on un often and even though it was our first time she made us feel like frecuente clients. Will definitely recommend
