10+ Stars to Kona Grill in Eden Prairie!
We hosted our daughter’s wedding reception here just before Valentine’s Day, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment our group of 45 arrived, we were given incredible attention and care. We had two dedicated servers, two managers checking in to ensure everything ran smoothly, and a personal bartender just for our event. The level of service was truly exceptional.
The food was abundant and beautifully presented—our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! What impressed us even more was the special attention to detail. The private room was perfectly set up, the decorations were thoughtfully arranged, and they even created a crafted wedding signature drink menu just for us. Every detail felt intentional and celebratory.
The private event space can accommodate even more guests than we had, making it a wonderful venue option for larger gatherings. We could not have been more pleased with how seamless and special they made this important day for our family.
I highly recommend Kona Grill not only as a fantastic place to dine with friends, but also as a venue for your next group event or celebration. They truly went above and beyond!

One of the best spots in town that has a little bit of everything. Also one of the best happy hours in EP by far if that’s your thing. Ask for Bryce as your server when you come in, you won’t be disappointed. Knows the menu in and out and better yet knows how to provide a top tier dining experience.

Drove all the way from the cities to try this place and sadly was greatly disappointed with the quality of the food, considering how expensive it is. Food was heavily seasoned with salt. Not worth a trip or stop.
Very slow service even though dining room was not even half full, just a few tables with customers when we arrived 1.5 hours after they opened.
They didn’t have prime rib per my first order, so server came back to notify me so I decided to change it to ribeye. Server came back a second time to tell me they didn’t have ribeye, either. Which is truly odd within 2 hours of opening.
Green beans are smothered in a sweet and salty sauce, overkill.

12/11 Update – We decided to give Kona another try after shopping at the mall. We went there for happy hour, and everything was perfect. Our server was very attentive. The managers, Nicole and Emily, came and checked on us throughout our meal as well. We will continue to go back as they are definitely trying hard to right their ship.
I, too, went there on Monday 11/10 for the meal they offered veterans. At 6pm, they were out of all steaks but a filet. I figured that’d be a small portion where all the others are 12oz. So I decided to go with the sea bass. I bet it wasn’t bigger than 4oz. See pic. Although I’m appreciative of the gesture and thankful they gave something, it was disappointing. I definitely wouldn’t pay $40+ for that on any other night. We used to be Friday HH regulars a couple years ago. It’s sad to see this place go downhill.

Had the best time at dinner with my 13 girlfriends having a great celebration. Happy hour was so good, a lot of variety at a great price. Service by Marty was second to none and he made a real effort to get to know us and added to the fun vibe!! Thank you!!!!

Great atmosphere- our server was friendly and the food was amazing. Loved the meatball starter- the glaze was so good! We also enjoyed the Asian salad and crunchy spicy tuna rolls. It was busy but all of our food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. 10/10 highly recommend!

The Calamari was perfectly cooked for our appetizer, crab stuffed salmon, delicious and the turmeric rice was amazing… the other entree was shrimp poke with greens. Spicy and memorable, mmmm. Left me with a warm and satisfied feeling in my mouth. Service by Marty was exceptional. Great dining experience.

We had such a wonderful time at Kona! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing evening. Our server, Karla, truly made the experience even more special. She was incredibly attentive, and made us feel so well taken care of throughout our dinner. We will definitely be coming back and hope to see Karla again!

Our server, Kati B, was phenomenal! The Miso soup was far the best I’ve had. It was so fulfilling, and they did not go cheap on the ingredients. The seabass was really good. My husband had the surf and turf and loved it. Our friend tried the carrot cake, and it was huge! We loved the music and the atmosphere!

While this is no discredit to the food, unfortunately we had the worst service I can recall at any time. It took about 15-20 minutes to get our drinks, another 20 minutes beyond that to get our calamari appetizer, and never got plates. Fast forward another half hour our sushi rolls arrive delivered from other staff but still no plates, chopsticks, or soy sauce and we didn’t ever see our server again for the rest of the night. I eventually went to the bar to get dishes and used the table machine to check out. And the tables beside us seemed to have the same issues as I overheard one state to the server “we’re just waiting on you.” As a previous server I would have some level of understanding if it had been really busy but it was maybe less than half full and looked like our server had about 4 tables.
