Glitzy, loungelike space for hibachi shows & creative sushi rolls, plus Japanese & Chinese entrees.

We absolutely love this place! The hibachi experience was a blast—our chef was not only skilled but incredibly entertaining, making the whole night memorable. The food was exceptionally fresh and cooked to perfection. Even beyond the hibachi, the main dining area offers plenty of seating, a great bar, and consistently delicious food. Highly recommend!

This was not our first experience at the Kon Asian Bistro. Our family has been regular costumers of the hibachi grill section of the restaurant, and we have enjoyed the food offered every time! The menu offers a variety of options for everyone, kids and vegetarians included. The cooks are all skilled and quite entertaining! We definitely recommend that place!

OMG THE SUSHI IS DELICIOUS. I’m a connaisseur of the asparagus/avocado/cucumber roll (here called vegetable roll) and this is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Seriously. So good I ordered a second one. I also very much enjoyed my salmon/avoc/cuc roll, salmon sushi, and edamame. Such a great meal that I’m sitting at the table writing this review. I live in San Diego, but will make a point to come here again.

Three of us went for dinner. Two had salmon and one steak. The service was ridiculously slow. The restaurant was sooooo loud and weirdly dark. The salmon tasted like fish skin. Just gross. Both of us who had the salmon were sick to our stomachs the next day. The steak was measly for the price. Way overpriced in general.

Service is consistently good, attentive. Food is hit or miss. We’ve had some great hibachi and sushi. Food during our most recent visit was lackluster. Sushi on special tasted like a different roll and the noodles were gummy. Interior is clean, but a little warn from time/use.

5⭐️ BEST ASIAN RESTUARENT IN PORTLAND
Me and my wife were feeling to try some Asian food. We always wanted to visit this place but never find time . We are glad finally we came there.
The ambiance is wonderful. The lighting , smell, setup everything is nice. Tables are set up nice so there is privacy too.
Now comes the food. They have hibachi and sit in option. We for now just wanted to try to normal foods. They have lot of options but end up ordering Chicken Satay. A classic shrimp tempura roll and from grill we ordered Szechuan Crispy Dried Shredded. Every item tasted very very good.
Service is very good and very welcoming crew.
We plan to go for Hibachi soon. Will review about that again.
One thing to mention Price seems very reasonable as a nice ambiance Restuarent .

The food was sooooo good and the atmosphere was nice, I personally liked how it was just one big open space so that you weren’t crammed into a tiny room. The habachi was great, the chefs were interactive and made the whole thing entertaining and enjoyable.

Kon is always a solid spot to stop in for fresh sushi and a good cocktail. Their happy hour deals are definitely worth checking out. Most of the time the staff is fantastic—this visit may have just been an off day, as they weren’t quite as friendly as usual. Still, service wasn’t bad, and the food more than made up for it. Overall, Kon remains one of the best places around to enjoy a great meal and drink.

Our last time supporting this establishment, unfortunately this experience was a ruined celebration on so many levels. Very disappointing that bringing 11 people on a Tuesday was an inconvenience for everyone. There was good communication and allergies we’re taken seriously which was good but for our family we won’t return and this is a less than positive memory.

We came as a party of 9 on a Wed evening(430) for a birthday party(adult) with 3 kids under 8. We reserved a Hibachi Table and it was a great experience overall. The included photos should give an idea of layout. I was left of the chef and my husband was to my right. Otherwise we were all in full view of the chefs mad skills. 2 Hibachi grills, with chefs back to back, per seating arrangement and could seat 16-18 per arrangement total(per 2 grills). They offer a large number of Hibachi tables! I will say that the quite necessary hood vents over each grill are loud so you have to lean into each other to speak normally or raise your voice to speak across the table or to the chef. My husband and I split a combination plate (steak-SO tender! And Scallops) and there was a $5 surcharge for the meal split but totally worth it. They are large servings and everyone but my husband and I are taking food home. The chef was awesome and shot Saki in my mouth and the birthday boys a few times 😉 he was playful with the kids as well. Ultimately I see my husband and I bringing our son back here more than once. But if the 1st experience for a child is Hibachi You will be challenged for them to accept an alternative!
