What a neat place. Just amazing drinks and food. We had a couple flaming plane drinks with mezcal and smoke finish and then the boursin scramble and the Italian sandwich. Just superb. GET the Forager mocha.

Koma Cafe is a must-visit. It successfully marries the cozy feel of a neighborhood cafe with the elevated food quality of a great casual dining spot. It’s a fantastic spot for a morning coffee run, a working lunch, or a flavorful, relaxed dinner. If you’re looking for great food, excellent coffee, and a wonderful atmosphere in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park area, Koma Cafe is your spot.

Cute little cafe in a neighborhood full of Old English Victorian homes. Nice outside seating area. Follow them on Instagram to get updates on their weekly softserve flavors which are typically VERY good. Dinner is pizza and pastas which I have yet to try.
***November 2025 update – Definitely try their weekly specialty software serve flavors. I just tried their pre-Thanksgiving of Pumpkin (vegan) and Coffee Cardamom – DELICIOUS.

This pizza was terrible. It’s thick and heavy! We orders three different types of pizzas and each one is the same quality. Thick heavy pizza. Not sure what dough and quality of cheese this place uses but it’s not what we expected at all. The pasta was supposed to be a marinara sauce with cheese. It looks like they incorporated cheese in the sauce. So weird, again nothing like we were expected. Unfortunately we door dashed Chinese food because we were so unhappy with this order. Service was great! Easy takeout order online and quick friendly service in the place. Just poor quality food.

I really wanted to like this place, but it’s extremely disappointing. We ordered two different kind of pizzas. The carbonara pizza is the worst kind of pizza I’ve ever tasted. It had a strips of bacon that’s not even properly cooked and extremely salty and the pepperoni pizza has so much oil it looks like a pizza you buy from 711.

Loved the food. Many many delicious options for vegetarians. They’ve fresh ice cream flavors (soft serves) every week that they switch out every Tuesday. The following Wednesday, you’ll get them in pint sized containers. Delicious flavors (blueberry caramel gochujang was my favorite). Don’t forget to ask for samples (if you don’t want a full serving, they’re a tiny, delicious sweet treat after a yummy brunch). Didn’t try any but they seem to have plenty of drink options. They’ve limited indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating (this was in May/June). Parking can be tricky to find but certain side roads will have to do. Great service as always!

Finally made it for a quick solo breakfast and Kona did not disappoint. I went with the garlic Boursin omelette with avocado and a coffee. It was fantastic – perfectly soft eggs with delicious cheese and subtle garlic flavor. The coffee was tasty and fresh- with free refills! Superb service and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Visited today and got the ube latte and tuna sandwich (both very yummy). The tuna sandwich is a good size for its price. The atmosphere is mellow, and is perfect place to do work or read. Staff were very friendly as well! ☺️

A super nice new spot in Takoma Park! Beautiful way to spend your morning coffee and breakfast. Staff was beyond friendly —thank you to Harry for suggesting a delicious breakfast pairing!
I would definitely order the omelette again. Cold brew with vanilla was great.
Smoothie bowl was very filling.
Love the outdoor seating. We also learned they are doing dinner service soon. Will definitely be back!
