I just want to take the time to review this amazing location. It is a hole in the wall type place that is more a grab and go for food (although I believe some seating is available) with absolutely incredible homemade food and generous portion sizes for the amount you pay. I make it a point to stop and grab food here when I do my yearly visit up north in the Elk Rapids area. I have had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and rice in the past and all was delicious. Do not expect a fine dining experience but do expect home made food that rivals it.

THE FOOD IS SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Y’all I haven’t had food this good since my Grandma passed!! The meatloaf is wonderful, the potatoes and greens were bomb and the sweet potatoes took me HOME!!! This place is a foodies dream, hidden in Elk Rapids. Do your taste buds a favor and stop in! Did I mention that she only charges $5 for a to go box!! And the portions are a good size!!

The food was absolutely the most flavorable I’ve had for awhile. The curried chicken and coleslaw with pineapple are terrific along with everything else.
This a real gem Elk Rapids. We will return over and over. I am shocked how inexpensive the meals are.
I would gladly pay more to eat here.

First time here. Delicious! Absolutely fantastic. If I’m in the neighborhood ever again, I’ll definitely stop, every time. I recommend this place to anyone!! Good home cooking, real food. None of the bs fast food that doesn’t expire garbage. This place is the real deal.

Never disappointed by Kohl’s food. Her fried chicken is my favorite by far. Her baked potato bar is not always available, but is delicious as well. Great for a day outside, fast and convenient. But get there on time, she sells out fast!

Super friendly staff! Amazing food! Unbeatable prices! Usually open Tuesday through Saturday, but hours seem to vary so check before you stop by. Cafeteria style and food can be ordered to go or you can eat there. Mmmmm so good!

Attended a party last weekend with catering from Kolu’s. The food was exceptional. Everyone went back for second helpings and some got thirds. I tried everything served, pulled pork, mild jerk chicken, spicy jerk chicken, garlic cheese mashed potatoes. Gotta go to Elk Rapids to try other items on menu which I am sure are equally delicious.

1st day cash only, did not have any. 2nd day we have cash but now they’re out of food. Day 3 got food. Its decent, but not spectacular. For the prices though doesn’t matter, tons of food for the price. If you want to pay 3x the price for something that tastes slightly better go elsewhere. Otherwise have cash and hope they’re not out of food.
