Went with my husband for a special Chef’s table event. The customer service was impeccable…we were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Each dish was a work of art and the chef Jose came and explained each dish, origins and ingredients. The food was delicious. After dinner the chef took us on a tour of the restaurant and the kitchen. What an incredible experience. Can’t wait to return!!

Great gourmet Mexican food. All made in house. Not your average, ordinary Mexican, rather Mexican dishes fused with wonderful flavors! Had the vegan and the beef chili rellenos. My favorite was the beef. Vegan was good, but a little sweet for me. Husband loved it, though. Went on a week night and got seated right away.

Cannot say enough about how awesome Kolucan is.
Service from hostess at the door to server (Juan C) at our table was excellent.
Its the food tho that is the star.
We had (1) Costillas Poblanas and
(2) Callo de Hacha de Colima
w/ Scallops.
(1) Boneless short rib in mole sauce with the best jicama and carrot salad and small potatoes perfectly prepared.
(2) Pan-seared Sea scallops with corn risotto and peppers
This is mexican good at its finest.
Elevated.
Server recommended both dishes and was spot on. He was knowledgeable about the menu. Friendly without including himself in our conversation. Attentive without hovering.
Highly recommend.
We will be back again and again.

Kolucan Mexican bar and grill is such a fun spot! The lounge area has a great casual vibe—perfect for hanging out during Happy Hour. The drink menu is huge, the cocktails are fantastic, and the authentic Mexican food is absolutely delicious. A must-visit if you love great flavors and a lively atmosphere!

Above and beyond the ordinary. Interesting cocktails. Delicious appetizers and entrees. Beautiful presentation. Fun, warm, convivial atmosphere without feeling loud or overwhelming. It was my first visit, but I’ll be back for sure.

This was our first time dining here, and we were genuinely excited to try it—especially since it was Valentine’s Day. We expected it to be busy and were prepared for that. When we booked our 7:30 pm reservation, we were told over the phone to arrive early, so we showed up about 10 minutes ahead of time. We ended up being seated at 7:40 pm, which honestly wasn’t too bad considering the night and the holiday. However, once we were seated, things slowed down significantly. Our waitress didn’t come to our table until 7:56 pm. By that point, we had plenty of time to review the menu, so we ordered drinks, appetizers, and our entrées all at once. While we understood it was a busy Valentine’s night, the table next to us finished, left around 8:00 pm, and wasn’t cleaned until after 9:00 pm—right around when our food finally arrived. Sitting next to a dirty table for nearly an hour definitely took away from the experience. The waitress did check in a couple of times to ask if everything was okay, and I understand that many of the issues were likely out of her control. That said, there were a few small service missteps—she accidentally poured water into our iced tea, brought a replacement, but left the half-water, half-tea glass sitting on the table. As for the food, it was just okay. The barbacoa entrée was listed as $33 on a regular night on the website but was $36 for Valentine’s Day, which felt a bit disappointing given the overall experience. The beef was tender but lacked flavor, and the barbacoa wasn’t hot when it arrived, which was confusing considering how long we waited. The cheese appetizer was pretty good, but the tortillas kept falling apart and wouldn’t hold together at all. Overall, this visit was a bit of a letdown compared to how excited we were to try the place. The flavors were very basic, the food wasn’t memorable, and even the restroom—featuring black toilets that seemed intended to hide stains—wasn’t particularly clean. The service was acceptable, but nothing stood out as exceptional. In the end, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but it wasn’t great either. Don’t come here expecting a one-of-a-kind dining experience—there are better options in the area.

Kolucan was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and authentic, and the food was absolutely exceptional. You can tell they truly care about quality and the overall dining experience.
What made the evening even more memorable was our server, Juan. He was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. Juan took the time to explain the menu, offered great recommendations, and ensured everything came out perfectly. His service was polished and thoughtful, which elevated the entire experience.
If you are looking for incredible food paired with top-tier service, I highly recommend Kolucan. Ask for Juan if you can, he truly represents hospitality at its finest. Five stars all the way.

Decent place with a good interior, but the staff needs to be trained. Apparently they forgot to add alcohol to the margarita cocktail, but the food is quite tasty. I don’t eat Mexican food, but here I tried this cuisine for the first time in my life. It was not bad.

While visiting my daughter we went for a nice lunch together. We were seated quickly, greeted quickly once settled. The waiter was kind and helpful. He was knowledgeable about the menu, told us about the restaurant and made suggestions. We ordered the burrito bowl with crispy short ribs and enchiladas divorciadas. Both were wonderful! The enchiladas had just the right amount of heat, the short ribs were fabulous in the burrito bowl- tender and so flavorful. I look forward to returning on my next visit south.
