What I really like about this place is the simplicity without taking away the quality of the food, and the ambiance where you can meet up with friends for conversations while eating a simple meal.
Walking in, we were not greeted by anyone but our friends who were there already, motioning us to the table. Seated, we looked over the menu, which were filled with plenty of food choices front and back. The friends we were meeting here always get pretty much the same food: Kokoro bowl (beef and chicken), chicken bowl, and California rolls. Since we have never dined here, I chose the spider rolls and a beef bowl (super), and my husband chose the Kokoro bowl, and for $1 more, he substituted the white meat option instead of the offered dark meat.
The spider rolls I ordered came with 4 pieces of soft shell crab, fried in a batter, and were wrapped in seaweed and rice. Cooked to perfection, these rolls were so good! They tasted so fresh too. This is one food item I would like to eat again and again whenever I visit this restaurant in the future.
My beef bowl was very simple: rice underneath marinated beef with onions. It could use more juice from the beef, so I added some soy sauce, pickled ginger, and chili pepper powder. The added flavor to this dish enhanced my eating experience, because it was just enough heat for me to enjoyed the dish.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the staff made the eating experience here an enjoyable evening.
If you want casual Japanese food without a big price tag, give Kokoro a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by their food, prices, and service. Their two locations, conveniently located in Denver (on Colorado Blvd) and Arvada (on Wadsworth), are easy to find. Happy eating!

Su the waitress was absolutely amazing. I came in with my 2 yr old son and she went above and beyond ensuring he was taken care of. I could not say enough positive things about her. Thank you Su. The food was not good in my opinion. I love sushi and that was not good. The teriyaki chicken bowl tasted weird as well. I won’t come back but at least wanted to give Su compliments.

The food is good, but it needs a little more something. I would definitely go back for the chicken dumplings and the tempura bowl, but again, it is just very basic with no pizaz. The service was excellent, and the price was pretty reasonable. If you are looking for a quick bite, this is a place to stop by.

My boyfriend took me to Kokoro for lunch. This was my second time there and it was amazing. Not only was the customer service amazing, the food was great too. The atmosphere was very lively and was just so comfortable to be there. If you are looking for some really good Japanese food, Kokoro’s is definitely the place to go!

More web surf than Webster –I thought I already reviewed this one apparently I only got the five in took me a long time to get my wife to be willing to give this place a try and then if the longest time is the only place she wanted to eat. So I don’t recommend we go there cuz I don’t want to get back in that room but then again she did really enjoy it and they were decent good food reasonable price but I haven’t been there in a while hopefully they haven’t gone downhill

Service is excellent, fast and friendly! The food couldn’t be more opposite. Bland, brown, and looking like it came out of a jug. I have no idea what the rest of these reviews with anything higher than one star are eating because we got three different entrées and they were all worse than school cafeteria food. The price is reasonable and service was great, otherwise there is nothing to see here. Let alone eat.

Regarding the Onigiri,
Whoever makes the Tuna Ongiri it’s too salty that I can’t even enjoy. Somedays it’s not salty at all and yummy yet the inconsistency is disappointing.
When they aren’t working everything is reasonably seasoned and delicious. Whoever you are I hope you receive this feedback because you gotta stop or just let someone else more experienced make it. You worked the dinner shift tonight friday the 23rd.
Other than that I like the rest of the food and staff. They are friendly, fast, efficient, and kind. I love this place lots and grew up going to this place so I want to keep supporting this business. I like everything I eat just the Onigiri needs work. Thank you

Waited in the drive thru line for over 20 minutes before even getting my order taken, with only two cars in front of me. The guy at the window was all over the place, couldn’t remember if he already charged me, kept asking me to repeat myself, then handed me off the wrong order. When I went inside there was another customer coming in because his older was also messed up, but the FOH server Cameron was very friendly and corrected as quickly as possible.
