Authentic taste.

Good udon is one of the dishes I really miss from Japan. I feel really lucky to have this restaurant open in my area. The spicy/regular cold beef udon are the way to go. The noodles are bouncy and the taste of the broth is complex. I used to drive an hour down to porter square whenever I was craving it, but now I can just come here.

The service is very good and just like the noodle bars in Japan. You order and pay ahead of time, enjoy the meal as soon as it comes out, and leave. This is a feature not a bug. I’d dismiss the reviews about the service being poor and music being bad, that’s likely just the old money in this town talking.

Hope this restaurant does well because it’s going to be a staple for me.

That yuzu cheesecake tho.

Nice experience. Jan was so warm the moment we walked in, and seated us even though we were close to the kitchen’s closing time. The decor was cute. My partner took the niku udon and loved it (he’s from Singapore and said it was very close to what he’s had there). I took the gyudon rice bowl and loved it. The rice tasted really good with the beef! But I felt the beef: rice ratio can be improved. Overall, nice experience and I would be back again. Also, Jan is very warm and sweet!!

Like the other reviews say, be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes even if you’re only ordering 1 item. It takes a really really really long time, even when the restaurant is empty (they have like 4 tables) and when nobody else is coming/going to pick up orders, it takes a LONG time. If you place an online order phone order, it will not be ready for 45 – 90 minutes, again, even when the restaurant is extremely empty and quiet

Food was fantastic and very authentic! Brings back warm memories of my time in Japan many years ago. We are so lucky to have such a dining option so close. I will most definitely be back!! P.S. Try the octopus balls, they’re fantastic!!!

The food tasted really good, especially the broth—it was clear and not too sweet, which I really liked. I’ve tried several udon places near Boston, but this one stands out. If you’re craving something authentic, I highly recommend this place. P.S. The spicy sauce was quite hot, so if you’re not into spicy food, it’s better to ask for it on the side.

I was craving cold udon since it was so hot out today, and I am so glad I found this place. I think it rivals some of the best spots in Boston. Perfect texture from the noodles combined with delicious broth and toppings. The service was friendly, and the vibe of the restaurant was very welcoming. I will most certainly be returning here!

I found this place because I really like Udon noodles and could not find anywhere nearby to get them. I tried this place and ….. i will never go anywhere else again!!! The Udon was perfection! The Takoyaki was the definition of enjoyment in my mouth. I ate the whole serving (6-Takoyaki) in less time than it took to put on socks. I only ordered 1 serving, but will never make that mistake again, minimum of 2 orders baseline. I am looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu but let’s be real… if you want Udon…. THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!

The other reviews are accurate — the food is good, but make sure you give yourself plenty of time when you visit. I’ve been there about five times, and the long wait (usually around an hour after ordering) is consistently an issue. It’s the kind of experience that turns what could’ve been 50 visits into just 5. Never be on time. One of those rare restaurants where you walk in feeling good and walk out completely deflated.

Disclaimer- I came at the end of their lunch hours so I was the only customer.
Really great tasting udon- I got the Spicy Niku. Service was good, I was immediately given water and complimentary hot tea which was nice. Since I was the only one there, my udon came very quickly. I’m shocked at the portion; they gave me so much meat I couldn’t even finish. Atmosphere is so nice and intimate. They also play Japanese hip hop (I think) which was a nice touch to the ambiance. Digital dine in was user friendly.

So happy we got an authentic udon place in the area! The noodles are perfectly chewy. The beef is well marinated with generous portions. The environment is relaxing and comfortable. We’ll definitely come back again.
