I stopped in for lunch for the first time today and was blown away by the service. Shawn, my waiter, was fantastic right from the start. He was so thoughtful—he specifically recommended I take the corner seat by the glass windows, which turned out to be the most comfortable and relaxing spot in the house.
On his suggestion, I ordered the Army Soup, and it was delicious. Throughout the meal, Shawn checked in just enough to make sure I was taken care of without being intrusive. The general vibe here is wonderful; it felt really warm and communal. Seeing a mother enjoying a bonding lunch with her son at the next table and groups of friends catching up nearby just added to the great atmosphere. Highly recommend asking for Shawn if you visit!
Definitely coming back and bringing my kids! It’s a gem!

The food is very delicious, this is a bento box and the tempura was very fluffy and soft. The terriyake had soft fresh chicken bite and a very rich flavory sweet teriyaki sauce: loved they put a good amount of sauce to savor it more. The sushi is a shrimp tempura roll and was very big and yummy. I cannot find a flaw on flavor honestly. The portions are very nice and will fill you up. I will be coming back. You need to try this bento sushi place

We came here because they had yakotori and nabe on the menu. We got the bulgogi nabe – the soup was slightly sweet and kinda reminded me of sukiyaki. The skewers and tempura were good as well.

Really great new Korean/Japanese izakaya in Santa Clara! Really great cozy atmosphere and the food is good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend trying the rolls and mentaiko noodles!

I have been coming to this location since it was called “Sake Bomb” for at least 5 years. The change in ownership to “Koko” is not working for me.
The quality of the rolls are not what they used to be. The rice is not seasoned w/ mirin and the quality of the fresh fish has gone down significantly in taste and quality. Note the thin sliver of salmon and tuna in the roll as pictured.
I love to support small local business but at this price and quality, it makes me think twice to continue coming here.

We came here for the first time and were blown away! We got the salmon kama, shumai, agedashi tofu, pork belly skewer, and scallop skewer. Everything tasted amazing and the service was wonderful 🙂
We will definitely come again and bring our friends!

We had such a great time here!
The service was honestly amazing — super warm and attentive from the moment we walked in.
Loved the music too, it really set the vibe.
And the Holy Sheit roll… wow not gonna lie, that spice hit HARD — in a good way!
Everything felt fresh, bold, and fun.
Definitely coming back.

The food and service were absolutely amazing. I would most definitely recommend to all. The atmosphere isn’t bad, but can get a little loud. I’m definitely returning though.

My friends raved about Koko Izakaya, so next time i was in Sunnyvale i had to check them out. The woman who came to the door (bc they hadnt taken the closed sign down yet) opened the door for me, i opened my mouth to say thank you and she turned away without even making eye contact or saying anything. Oaa She went back and then looked up at me – didnt say anything just looked up, so i asked if i could get a to go order. She hands me a menu, i take 2-3 minutes to decide and then approach her and order 2 rolls. It comes to 39 and change, i hand her two 20s, she takes it and puts it away, i stand there a second but she doesnt start getting my change, then she looks up and says “did you want change?”
I was going to tip- but thats not how i tip for takeout. Usually i set a few dollars on the table where i was sat waiting, after i get my food.
But since she’s made it awkward i say no keep the change. I go wait for my food, get it and leave, go home & try it & its amazing! So so good. But the customer service left something to be desired & made me uncomfortable. I’ll probably just get it delivered next time. Weds nov 26th.
