Nice Japanese steak restaurant! We went for the first time with some friends and were seated immediately. Service was friendly and the ambience was nice as well. We ordered steaks and they were amazing! The steak sauce that comes with it was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try! The prices are reasonable too!

The dishes were hit or miss. Cheese hamburger was amazing. Wagyu options did not live up to the hype. The rib eye steak was good, but the medallions with agar was unimpressive. The cheesecake dessert was fantastic, but the others were too sweet or stale (brownie).

I’ve been to Kokkaku twice and both times the mains were cooked and seasoned perfectly. They have a nice assortment of cuts, and fair prices. The wagyu side was just okay though. It’s a steakhouse with a more casual vibe, being a bit more crowded, brighter and not white table cloth.

What a gem! I had walked past this place many times. I finally tried it and I was very impressed. The service was friendly and fast. I had the burger steak and it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were probably the best I ever had. My friends had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. We also shared a plate of wagyu which was outstanding. I will be back many times to go down that menu.

It’s hard to find a happy hour menu that you can explore with each visit and be excited to try, but that’s Kokkaku! The bruschetta offers a lot of choices and I’ve liked each one I tried. Their drinks aren’t alcohol-forward which I personally like (I don’t usually drink much). If you like finding eggs in your fish, the shishamo is a fun appetizer.
I haven’t tried their non-happy hour items too much (the mains). I’m not sure if I’d go there for entrees if I’m craving Japanese, but I definitely recommend checking out the happy hour items!

Somehow we ended up dining here on a night we did have an appetite for beef. Still we had a delicious meal. An old fashioned, ceviche, the wings, and fried smelt, and you can’t go wrong. The seafood pasta was a bit gloppy, but still pretty good and filling.

Came here for my birthday with friends and it was amazing! We booked a reservation a few weeks early and noted we had a couple celiac people in the group. They were very accommodating to avoid cross contamination. Everyone really enjoyed their food – some ordered the chef menu options, others ordered Ala cart. I went with the chef menu of Wagu roasted beef with yuzu kosho dressing, Japanese cheese Hamburg steak with demi glace sauce, and the dessert of the day – chocolate cake. I also ordered a Toki old fashioned. Everything was wildly delicious – I highly recommend the hamburger. I don’t think the cheese added much so next time I’d get it without the cheese. Everyone in my group left happy and full.

We came by as a group of four with a reservation, and we were seated immediately! There was a mishap over the table not being ready yet, but they cleaned it up for us ASAP. The owner came by and made sure we were having a good time and answered all of our questions. We could tell that he was really passionate about wagyu and that he took pride in his work!
We stayed and chatted for a long while, basically until closing time, and not once did the owner or the staff make us feel rushed about finishing up and leaving. It was a very cozy vibe, and the owner welcomed us to come back for happy hour next time!
The Wagyu Sushi was our favorite and sooooo good!!! We will definitely come back to order more of it and try out the rest of the menu next time!! Definitely one of our favorites!

Kokkaku is one of those places that blows you away with its simplicity. Every dish is packed with layers of flavor, even if it looks simple at first. I can’t stop thinking of their tofu cheesecake.
