The food is good, but honestly, just go to Hannam Chain or H Mart instead. You’ll get better value and more options there.

Pros: Best kimbab ever. Good portion. Super tasty. Especially spicy squid ones.
Cons: need to stop increasing the prices every few months… And spicy squid kimbab gets too spicy lately….

Best gimbap spot in the area (coming from a local). I’ve been to three other nearby spots and this one is by far the tastiest. The lady who is usually working there is also the kindest, friendliest person I’ve ever met. I would give five stars just for her! Luckily the food is also

Not sure why some people gave this place a 1-star, but it’s an older Korean lady running the place with two other workers in the back. People should give her a break. You’re not grading some Michelin star restaurant lol.
Anyhow, this place has the best spicy tuna and spicy squid kimbap I’ve ever tried. It’s so fresh and so good, has a great crunch to it and the perfect rice to ingredient ratio. I’ve tried kimbap all over in jersey, manhattan and queens but I always find myself coming back to this place. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area! Oh yea, she often times sells out of certain kimbaps (I think with the help she has more inventory now) but don’t get pissed at this poor lady if she’s out!

The gimbap here is even better than the ones I’ve tried in Seoul. To me, great gimbap is like great potato chips in that each piece just disappears without any conscious friction, until it’s too late. The proportion of rice to ingredients, the sesame oil saturation of the gim (nori in Japanese), the tenderness/crispness balance of the vegetables, and the interplay of umami, saltiness, acidity and sweetness are delightful. Also, subpar (dry) gimbap needs assistance from soups or beverages to go down, but not these. These are brilliant! From my experience, the fresh daily batches sell out quickly, meaning there may be limited selection or none towards the afternoon.

Best to get kimbap early as possible.
They make certain amount per day, and once it’s sold out, it’s sold out. I usually get the ohjinguh [spicy squid], spicy tuna, and regular. They taste very fresh [and warm if bought when it is just made]

I used to love this place before they changed their name, quality and continuously rising prices. I used to be able to eat two rolls of kimbop without needing to drink water but now even before finishing one roll, I am looking for water. Food is still good enough to eat once in a while but not as often as before when I used to visit couple of times a week. I don’t know if its just me but I feel as if the price is rising so frequently.
