The restaurant felt a bit overpriced, and our food—especially the sushi—took quite a while to arrive. Considering it wasn’t very busy, it seemed the kitchen might have been short-staffed, working through one table’s order at a time. The sushi rolls were enjoyable, but the entrées were just average. Cocktails were decent, though they also came out slowly. We did appreciate the thoughtful touch of a birthday dessert.

Absolutely loved this meal at Kokai Sushi. Everything came out warm, fresh, and packed with flavor, and you can really tell there’s a lot of care behind each plate. The attention to detail is a big plus—from presentation to balance of textures and sauces.
On top of that, the music was very enjoyable, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and intentional, not rushed or generic.

The standout dish for both of us was the Aderezo De Ajonjoli Deluxe which featured perfectly seared thin slices of tuna with sesame seeds, and avocado in their special house sauce with their house salad, crunchy salmon, and plantains. The flavors were unexpected and went so well together

Came here for the first time with my sister, and Palino ‘Lo Hare’ was our server. He was amazing! Attentive, knowledgeable and funny. He had great suggestions on what food items to order and what drinks would pair well. We had three rolls and the Kokai soup, which they split into two bowls. The restaurant was clean, well decorated and well lit. I will definitely be going back with the family.

Had some pretty intense diarrhea after eating a chirashi bowl from here. Epic stuff. It hurt my stomach a little, but I’m giving two stars because I don’t remember the last time I had a BM. I must have lost a few pounds. I felt very refreshed, very accomplished afterwards.
I guess I’m just saying don’t make plans after eating here for the next hour or so. But you can skip the juice cleanse and come here instead.

The food here is amazing. I’m not sure if I’ve made a review on this place before but I cannot say enough of this place. Ever have I been disappointed and “Lo Hare” the server is the best! You won’t find a more welcoming person on the planet. First time I came here with a group of people he was our sever. He gave us options and was very charismatic. His humor is by far the best. One of the reasons why I keep coming back.
