Extraordinary evening from start to finish. If you are seeking an incredible evening of wonderfully creative sushi grab a seat at Koju.
The space is elegant and refined but not snooty. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food impeccably served by the delightful Chef Kevin along with a kind and generous host in a small setting ( only 14 seats ).
I’d definitely recommend you make a reservation before the word gets out!

Koju Sushi is truly one of a kind. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. What sets this place apart is their commitment to quality—every ingredient is flown in fresh from Japan, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The flavors are authentic, delicate, and carefully crafted, yet the setting has a modern, hip vibe thanks to its location inside the Ace Hotel.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that perfectly balances authenticity with a contemporary atmosphere, but Koju Sushi delivers both effortlessly. If you’re looking for an unforgettable sushi experience, this is absolutely the place to be.

We specifically came to Koju for Chef Kevin. We had dinner at his previous restaurant last year and had been thinking about it ever since. When we found out that Koju was opening, we jumped for a reservation so quick. Once again, Chef Kevin and the rest of the team did not disappoint. Every dish was better than the one before. The fish was so fresh and the flavors just danced in your mouth. You know it’s good when it gets silent and everyone is savoring every bite. The sake pairing was perfect. Can’t wait to dine at Koju again!!

Koju at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn is one of the most enjoyable omakase experiences I’ve had. Chef Kevin Garrison creates a warm, relaxed atmosphere that feels rare for sushi counters, and the quality of the fish and pacing of the tasting menu were excellent. Portions were just right, the sake list was great, and the price makes sense for the experience and location. Thoughtful, delicious, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend.

Food and service were great. On the pricy side. Highly recommend to go with the sake tasting. They charge a 20% admin fee not including tips, not sure if we had a group of 6.

My wife and I went recently for my birthday and was totally mesmerized by everything. Walking in we were greeted with excellent service – they took our coats, provided hand towels and more things you should expect from a fine omakase experience. The atmosphere was really cool, great music (Japanese city pop and older) being played and had a very cozy feel due to all the natural wood and lighting.
Chef Kevin was our guide that night and he was phenomenal. Was super experienced in his craft, explained all the ingredients in detail and even gave insight on how he preps and creates the food. Professional first, but was always down to chat and have a drink with us.
For the food and experience, the price we paid was worth it. We left feeling super satisfied and couldn’t stop talking about their food and drink quality.
5/5 I will be back

An extraordinary sushi experience by meticulously aged sushi, the warm atmosphere of Japanese pop music playing on vinyl behind the counter, and interiors design elevates with traditional kyoto art. This restaurant defines a bold redefinition of next generation of sushi experience. Perfectly aligned with the Ace Hotel vibe, it marks the arrival of another remarkable destination in Brooklyn downtown. Although I live in Manhattan, this is truly a place I would return to again again again.
