Came by when I saw they had a happy hour menu from 3-6pm for $5-6 standard rolls and appetizers. For a smaller additional cost, you’re able to test out a selection of their premium rolls for $9. Restaurant is clean, service was passable but the highlight was the food – the quality of the appetizers and sushi was outstanding, fresh, and creative. The BOGO 50% off draft beer paired well with the delicious meal. Overall excellent value for both the happy hour and also the lunch menu.

A decent sushi spot in National city. Prices are enticing (20-30% cheaper that the competition) but the food quality is lacking. Tuna Tataki, despite having a bunch of good size pieces, did not taste fresh. Miso soup was mostly broth with a few lonely pieces of tofu and seaweed. Philadelphia roll was the only thing that tasted good, and the reason I am giving 4 stars and not 3. I might order a few other rolls as the price is better than in most grocery shops, and the quality seems comparable.

I didn’t want to leave a review since I didnt want my secret spot to blow up but this is one of the best HH and sushi in National City, South Bay area. They have a great HH selection everyday, fresh sushi and great service. I’ve been coming here more frequently and the taste and presentation are always beautiful. Chill spot with great food not only sushi, the ramen looks delicious, appetizers are yummy too. Check them out 🙂

I got the ‘Chef’s Choice Sashimi Bento Box’ with a salad. My boyfriend got ‘Katsu Don’. We also shared a bowl of Garlic Edamame and the ‘Dancing Tuna’ sushi roll.

The bento box was good. The fish was fresh, the gyoza was the perfect consistency and tasty, the side salad was marinated well with the dressing.

The Katsu Don was also really well put together and was super filling and tasty.

The garlic edamame was like no edamame Ive had before. The sauce they put on the edamame made it the best I’ve ever had and well portioned out.

The sushi roll we shared was the perfect balance of flavor and textures. Not to spicy. It enhanced the fish flavor with accentuation and made it blend well together.

I think I found another top sushi place.

Went back and enjoyed it all over again.
Quick service and food is delicious!

So its been 9 months since last review .. yesterday we went again 6.4.24. The sushi serving size was larger than I remembered. Enjoy the photos. It’s really authentic delish food! We ordered so much from seafood ramen, chicken ramen, Sexy Sushi and so much more!

Update, Yi Sushi was bought out by Koi Sushi (or at least this location was about 6 months ago). So let me provide you an update with the latest pictures.

We had a blast!!! The food was excellent and I definitely will go back again. They now have all you can eat in addition to the individual orders.

So the last pictures will show the most recent visit! But check out the amazing new presentation of the yes, THE BOAT FULL OF YUMMIES! The Green Tea Tempura Ice cream was outta this world! Please try it yourself!

Oh, If you’re craving for Japanese, there’s a nice little restaurant in National City called Yi Sushi (they have lots of seating inside). We came for lunch and really had a wonderful lunch deal… then we signed into Yelp and got an XTRA 10%!!! Very delicious and great on the pocket! Oh yeah. I forgot to take a picture, but the green tea ice cream is d’ bomb and the mochi ice cream is to die for! We attacked it! Lol!!!

Quaint looking from the outside, welcoming on the inside. Large dining area, big enough for a reasonably sized party. Quite a few people seated (last I went), but the staff were tentative and prompt. Very courteous and helpful, they made us feel welcomed and at home. The all you can eat is reasonably priced per person, and the rules are simple: 3 rounds (couldn’t do more than one) and up to 2 hours, you order it / you eat it. The rest of the menu is reasonably priced as well, with a good selection. Will be coming back here when I’m in the area!

Great value, particularly during their “Happy Hour”! We enjoyed their sushi rolls, ramen, rice bowl and, calimari and tempura veggies. The only thing that was only okay was the tempura chicken. It wasn’t bad… Just not that flavourful compared to everything else we ordered.

First time there. I chose the, all you eat option for 34 dollars (37 including tax). You have a lot of roll options, and it includes salads. Drink not included. It was surprisingly tasty. Had three rolls and that filled me up. The person who waited on me was very nice and patient explaining how things worked.

Very small and cute place. Almost hidden in plain site. They do offer an all you can eat sushi menu. We tried the ramen, teriyaki chicken and beef, chicken lettuce wraps. The wraps were nothing like we’ve had before, it was good but just not what I expected. The bento boxes were small portions but overall filling. The star of the evening was the strawberry mochi ice cream!! It was delicious!! Price range is a bit steep but that’s everywhere now. Service was decent. There is a parking lot but depending on the time parking can be limited. Lots of restaurants in this mall strip.

Family friendly Japanese restaurant with the best fried calamari.

This quality sushi is low priced. We had the fried calamari, spicy salmon roll, bubu roll, & cucumber eel roll – total cost: about $16.

The $3 happy hour salad was spicy, crunchy, fresh & good; I highly recommend it.

You get free hot sake when you order a beer ($6.45 & only during happy hour).

Happy Hour: 3pm – 6pm
