Fun family experience and yummy food. The chef was very talented, lots of the normal hibachi experience: throwing eggs, fire, throwing shrimp in each persons mouth, etc. the food was delicious and each thing was the perfect temperature. They give everyone 2 sauces plus soy sauce on the table so you can season more as needed. We brought up an allergy to peas and she assured us they didn’t use it in the fried rice.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was fresh and so full of flavor. The portions were generous and the steak and scallops were perfect. We will be coming back!

What a wonderful and exciting place to go! The staff were very friendly and very attentive to our needs. I never had to ask for more water or anything else. The gentleman who cooked our food was very skilled and friendly. He was very talented and we thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with us. I highly recommend this establishment.

Customer service here is outstanding: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. And the salad dressing? Truly top of the world. Highly recommend!

Love this place! We go here for Christmas Eve every year as tradition but I love going with the fam for the experience and amazing food. The fillet mignon is by far a fave and I always enjoy the rice noodles and salad on the side. They also DoorDash which I have done a few times when Im craving the food and don’t want to leave my house. I love supporting local businesses and they have done an excellent job. We made a reservation in advance to avoid any waiting.

I absolutely loved my visit to Koi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The hibachi chefs were not only skilled at cooking, but also unbelievably entertaining—making our dinner fun and memorable. The food itself was delicious and fresh across the board.
The service was attentive and friendly, and we felt well taken care of the entire night. It’s a great place for date night, family dinners, or any occasion where you want amazing Japanese food and a great experience. Highly recommend making a reservation since it can get busy on weekends!

Great sushi at a reasonable price. The restaurant was lively and busy, with many sushi rolls to choose from, and their tuna is especially fresh and flavorful. The hibachi is also a standout—tasty, well-cooked, and served with an entertaining presentation similar to Benihana. Overall, Koi Japanese Steakhouse offers quality food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent value. Highly recommended if you’re craving sushi or hibachi!

Hibachi = entertainment + good food. My family experienced neither. Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant.
Entertainment – as lackluster as it comes. We had Chef Cuong. Zero personality, did not engage any of the eight patrons around the cooktop. You know it’s not great when your two young children are making the choo choo sound for the steaming onion because the chef appeared to want to be anywhere else other than entertaining his guests. A few utensil tosses, a little fire, zero energy or desire to entertain.
Food – The hibachi rice and vegetables were bland. Lacked seasoning. Not much more to say here. My wife had the chicken and scallops and said they were just okay. The chef forgot to give us the typical two sauces that come with the hibachi dinner. I asked the waitress about the sauces and she had to instruct the chef too give them to us.
Unsure what the standard is here in Utah but my wife and I were shocked to find a $3 charge for fried rice without complimentary option (like white rice). Neither the menu nor the server were transparent. If there’s an charge for something, it’s common practice to mention it verbally or have it clearly explained in the menu. Better yet, like dozens of other hibachi restaurants, include the cost of the fried rice with the hibachi dinner instead of failing to mention that there is an additional charge for it.
The bright spot was our waitress. She was attentive and apologetic for the chef forgetting the sauces.
Conclusion – would have preferred to spend $100 elsewhere.

Amazing food. I went with my girlfriend and we got the Koi Special for 2. The egg rolls were so good, as well the chicken yakitori. The ribeye and salmon was great as well, and the shrimp were good too. The chef had amazing ability and I caught both the shrimps he threw at me with my mouth. Two for two baby!
Edit: The ice cream was fire too.

I honestly have no idea how this place has great reviews. Every single thing we ordered was wrong. I ordered green tea, never got it. We didn’t order an appetizer and they one on our table and then took it away. We ordered salmon sushi and got salmon sashimi, ordered a shrimp roll and got a veggie roll, and I ordered a bento box and got hibachi instead. I should be surprised because we were the ONLY people in there during lunch, but our waiter couldn’t bother to do anything other than watch the football game on tv. All this on my birthday. Will not be going back, ever. Definitely do not recommend.
