Started in 2017 as a single food truck in London, KY, Koi Express has since expanded to a full restaurant with a second location in Frankfort and plans to open more restaurants around the Commonwealth. Koi Express serves top quality sushi rolls and Japanese hibachi. With average lunch and dinner prices between $9 and $14, our mission is to be the best Japanese fast casual restaurant by consistently serving fast, fresh, delicious dishes with a stellar customer experience from start to finish.

A cute lunch place! All the food my group got was good quality and came out super fast. Love the build your own tea option! Will definitely be coming back. We got a few different variations of starters, sushi, and hibachi to share and it all was great! Loved that they asked how done we wanted our steak, and how sweet we wanted our tea. It really showed how much they care about customer experience. And did I mention the cleanliness? You almost cannot convince me this business has been open for longer than a couple months because of how clean it was. A new favorite for sure!

Absolutely LOVE their food! The chicken teriyaki hibachi is soo good! The veggies are always fresh and delicious, and the chicken is hot. The rice is good! And the yum yum sauce is soo yummy it’s drinkable! The restaurant is clean and the light fixtures are very cool! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. This is always my favorite place to eat.

I hadn’t been to this restaurant and oh my I’ve been missing out! The food was great. I got steak hibachi and my fiancé got lobster hibachi. It was so good. My steak was so tender and well seasoned. I’ll definitely be going back. The service was great and it was a laid back vibe.

Wow! Definitely going to be a new favorite of mine in Mt Sterling. The food was amazing and delicious, the staff were super kind, and it has a great atmosphere. We got the chicken dumplings, chicken teriyaki, and hibachi steak. Everything was tender and absolutely delicious.

My wife and I are not locals we just visit the red river gorge every year for our birthdays/anniversary and she wanted hibachi. First impression of the place is extreme clean and organized. It is not a traditional hibachi its more of a fast food, but the food is absolutely fantastic. We got a bit of everything cause we came hungry. Thedumpingsssushit and hibachi had plenty of flavor and tasted great. The sushi its self is fresh and is one of the best tasting ive had from an inland state.

The service is always great and friendly. I’ve never had sushi from here so can’t comment on that but the other meals have been good quality. The first time I went I got the lo-mein and a crab rangoon appetizer with no drink and my total was $25. I have returned multiple times and only ordered my meal with no appetizer or drink and it is usually around $14 – $16.

Miso soup—simple yet soothing, calmed the Force within. Vegetable hibachi—powerful in flavor, the broccoli, zucchini, and carrots danced like lightsabers in a well-choreographed duel. Fried rice, seasoned just right. A feast it was, and value strong with this one.
Service swift and kind, smiles they offered freely. Though I sat within, note this you must—drive-thru they have, for those who prefer to remain in their transports.
