Restaurant was moderately busy for a weekday, but as it’s small I would recommend booking.
The service was great, and the staff were attentive.
I had the madras which was a perfect level of spiciness.
Naans are very big and I’d recommend sharing.
The bhajis are great too!!!
I’d recommend this for anyone in the area, we will come back!
I went to Kohinoor of Kerala with high expectations and left completely frustrated. The chicken pakora was a disaster — the chicken was clearly old and stale. Unacceptable for any restaurant.
Before ordering malai kofta, I clearly asked if it could be made spicy. The staff confidently said yes, so I asked for super extreme spicy. What arrived was an insult. Just by looking at it, we knew the money was gone.
After tasting it, it turned out to be sickeningly sweet — like a dessert curry. Who in their right mind serves naan with a dessert? This was not food, it was a joke.
If you don’t know how to cook North Indian dishes, remove them from the menu instead of misleading customers with false promises. This place has no consistency, no honesty, and no quality control.
I will never come back again and would strongly advise others to avoid this place.
No problems with the tasty and spicy food, although I would have appreciated more lamb.
The Cobra IPA was a first.
I will return and pay more for extra lamb if this option is available.
I recommend this place for someone who wants amazing authentic food and friendly consistent staff.
This was our first and last time dining in the restaurant as most times I have ordered for click and collect, but after this I have decided there are simply much tastier options available in Southampton who offer much better customer service so I will be taking my business elsewhere. Hope this helps.
The staff are welcoming, food is delicious and the restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere.
Would recommend the garlic naan, aloo chana, chicken Malabar and onion Bhajis.
Second time I went with family we ordered biriyani and kallappam with fish molly and egg fried rice. Being very honest the taste was ok but they reduced the quantity so much it looked like kids meal. I told them as a suggestion to please add a bit more rice after eating as a friendly customer . The staff got agitated and he replied like he was irritated saying we have bowl and we use only that for biriyani also the chicken peices are not tye type we get usually with Biriyanis . It’s chicken breast chopped into cubes .
In total it was a long wait of 1 hour and 10mins to get the food pls their monopoly attitude like eat if you want. Not pleasant. Humbly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone . And surely will NOT go there again.
In short more money less quantity . Today it was a loss for me.
