Kohinoor Indian Restaurant is situated on what feels like an older block, and while the indoor dining is decent and clean, it’s not the flashy, modern setting you might find elsewhere. However, don’t let the appearance deter you, as the menu is where this restaurant shines! They offer a genuinely extensive variety of dishes that impressed me right away.
The overall quality of the food is very good, and everything tasted freshly prepared. The absolute standout is their biryani, which is distinctly different and wonderfully flavorful—definitely not the standard fare, but a unique and nice take on the dish. If you prioritize varied, high-quality Indian cuisine over sleek ambiance, Kohinoor is well worth a visit, especially for their biryani.

Explicitly ordered a rich creamy spicey Indian hot butter chicken. It had a decent chili heat level, but not much else. Wasn’t particularly creamy or rich and lacked spice flavor. Also had four pieces of cartilage/soft bone and not a lot of chicken. The chicken did have a nice pronounced charcoal/smokiness though. I explained this to the chef but he didn’t understand what cartilage was, and the manager that served me had left. They do offer very large sized curries equivalent to 5 curries or 2.5 liters of curry for only $70. I think this is great value, and if I try them again next time in town this is what I’ll oder. The rice wasn’t a quality basmati rice either.

Came in two days ago and ordered 2 of the $10 butter chicken specials.
First of all, the sauce was delicious, however.. luckily there wasn’t much chicken as it had a funny taste itself and I literally couldn’t eat it after 2 pieces. I had an upset stomach the next 24h.
Will be back for a second try some time. I just ate the sauce and the rice in the end and the sauce itself was so good and flavorful, and the customer service was nice and efficient.
I noticed it is very dark and dim inside, and very hot too. Perhaps consider updating your interior, choosing colour’s that don’t clash etc. An aircon also works wonders. Just some constructive criticism

Kohinoor has the absolute best butter chicken! We always order from them. Unfortunately this time we ordered through Uber eats and didn’t get the butter chicken we were hoping for. Instead it was bone in and much spicier. Only after them delivering it did I realize this wasn’t their traditional butter chicken. I will still go back but am really disappointed we didn’t get the butter chicken we know and love!

Having lived in India for a few months. I got to try really yummy authentic Indian food this place has been my mums fave for years. This is my new go to now!! The food is so authentic and made with love you can tell with every mouthful! Everything we ordered was exceptional. The owner was lovely and we chatted about many things. He was also very kind to my 4 year old son which I adore. We were able to relax and enjoy our meals and go home completely satisfied ate the lot and took nothing home!!

Ordered on line. Pick up time said 7:16 didn’t get my food until 7:45. I don’t mind waiting for food but I do get frustrated when they say pick up at such a time and then keep you waiting half an hour. They need to sort out their pick time on the Internet.
