Reviews
We got spicy beef bulgogi, marinated galbi, garlic chicken, and ribeye. I would definitely recommend choosing marinated meats as the bulgogi and galbi were our favorites, but I also really enjoyed the other two using the provided dipping sauces. All the sides were really tasty as well and we also got the corn cheese because duh and it was delicious.
We waited for a bit when we arrived due to them being so busy, but I took that as a sign the food would be really good and I was right. Once we were seated, we received prompt service the entire meal getting drink refills and more entree options. All of the wait staff was extremely kind and continuously checked on us the whole time to see if we needed anything else.
Very, very good
We had a reservation at 6:30PM and we didn’t get seated until around 6:50PM. The tables can’t be combined so there were 2 separate tables for all of us. Layout could be a problem if you prefer to all sit together in a larger group.
The food is great. They are tentative and will constantly change the burnt griddle plate. They constantly take our order so we can keep the flow going. The quality of the meat is great and flavorful. We enjoyed the overall experience. The place is a little small and I would come here with a smaller group of friends.
~ Hands down my favorite. We go here so much, the owner recognizes me ~
Meat: 5 out of 5 ⭐️ $42 a person
You can either order the regular or premium menu. We usually get regular, but have tried the premium. Both are really good. Meat is good and they give you a lot.
Sides: 10 out of 5 ⭐️
The sides are why I keep coming back. The rice cakes are phenomenal. The corn cheese is superb. Soups are delicious. I’ve tried MANY Korean bbq ayce, Kogi will always be #1 when it comes to the sides.
Staff: 5 out of 5 ⭐️
Great staff, always changing the grill even before you can ask. Attentive and gets your orders fast.
This is a safe pick whenever picking Korean ayce. They get busy during the weekends. They have a special Monday-Thursday, I believe it’s $32 a person.
Overall I spent $91 + $10 = $101 for 2 people
However, one major downside significantly affected our dining experience: the grill plates. The grill grate had to be replaced at least 10 times during our meal because it would immediately turn black from burning as soon as the meat touched it. We mentioned to the staff that this was very unpleasant, but we were told this was normal.
I’ve dined at many restaurants with tabletop grills, and I’ve never experienced this issue to this extent. In my opinion, the level of burning on the grill surface is not only off-putting but could also be a health concern. It’s something that should be addressed if the restaurant wants to maintain high standards.
Service: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Overall: My goto AYCE place to come to.
The extended review…
Food: 5/5 – The meats I defer to are the kalbi, pork jowl, lettuce, and rice paper. I typically have a bowl of bones at the end. If you go for AYCE…don’t do the fillers!!
Service: 3.5/5 – Service is hit or miss. The meat orders aren’t so much a problem but the sides I’ve found sometimes don’t get placed.
Ambiance: 3.5/5 – A good set up and you can place jackets in the stools you sit on which will minimize the smell on your clothes.
