Cool industrial-style restaurant in the former meat market serving simple, fresh seafood dishes.

I’m British and this restaurant had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had so that’s says it all. Razor clams were also super fresh and creamy with the sauces. Service is friendly and well informed about the menu. The interior has a great style also. You can see into their kitchen and it’s clear how serious they take the care into their ingredients. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Copenhagen.

a foodie friend told me since i love seafood so much i cant not have a meal Fiskebaren – im so grateful to him for pushing me here cuz my lunch experience was divine!
im at the point in my life where while i live to eat and wouldnt think twice about splurging on good food, i have no patience for long drawn fine dining meals. i like my food “chef-y”.. big on flavour, technique and execution, but served quick and in a buzzy casual environment. Fiskebaren ticks all those boxes.
i ordered a Bloody Mary – i feel the way a place makes this classic drink sets the tone for the meal ahead. thankfully this was an elegant rendition that doesnt taste like canned tomato sauce, served with two kinds of pickles.
as a solo traveller with menu FOMO, id always make it a point to ask if restaurants with alacarte options only can do up a tasting menu so i can try more dishes. while tasting menus are the norm at Fiskebaren, Chef Jamie kindly did up a tasting menu for me when i visited on 29th Dec 2025.
Unfortunately when i returned on 14th Jan 2026 i was told that the tasting menu experience Chef Jamie created for me was a one-off and that it wont happen again. sad but understandable. i ordered some AMAZING items from the alacarte menu and had a great meal anyway: oysters, bloody mary, razor clams, squid noodles, lobster, fig dessert.
loved my experience here and will 100% go back over and over again if im in Copenhagen.

An amazing dining experience. It’s the perfect place both for groups and for solo dining. I started with the oyster tasting, followed by grilled scallops topped with caviar, bread and whipped seaweed butter. Everything was exceptional, the service was fast, and the staff were knowledgeable and genuinely hospitable, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience. Chef Jamie and his team are doing an excellent job, and I’m truly thankful for everything.

A lovely restaurant. I ordered razor clams, a squid noodle dish and fresh oysters.
To finish the meal, a recommended desert!
I also got a tour of the kitchen area.
The staff and chef are so attentive, friendly and skilled at what they do.
I will be creating a post with video on my Instagram and Twitter X this week, but also wanted to give a personal review on Google.
It’s more of a fine dining experience, so don’t expect a large bowl of clams, it’s quality over quantity, but highly recommend.

Very unique dining experience. We had 8 to 9 small starter dishes, kind like tapas style. We really like it, that we could try all kind of seafood since they are all small dishes. The seafood are all very fresh, and cooked very creative way and with good presentation. The service we had is a bit cool but still friendly. If the service could have more intro or maybe explain the food would be perfect. I would think the food is Michelin star level, the decor is also very unique. Overall, I would recommend anyone love seafood to give a try, be open minded and enjoy the food.

Lively and trendy atmosphere with a nice buzz to it. The food was great quality and really nicely presented. My main problem here is that this place was sold to me as a “Fishbar” but it was more like fine dining experience (but without the service or tasting menu to go alongside with it). Portions are too small for the prices. We ordered the squid and as lovely as it was, it was literally two spoons of it for £23! The table next to us ordered the lobster starter and despite the hefty £75 price tag, it was minuscule! Again the food was gorgeous but just be prepared to spend money or you will leave hungry.

Really beautiful restaurant and good seafood-forward dishes. We had a wonderful bottle of wine and the servers were all very nice and accommodating!
Bread, fries and salad were good, but not great – everything looked beautiful though. Standouts were the mussels in cream and squid in chicken dashi broth! We paid about 200€ (1500+ Danish Krone), which we thought was expensive, but expected.

First of all atmosphere was great, authentic. Staff is lovely, smiley and helpful. And the foods are very delicious. Prices are a bit much higher standard. You will see whether worth it when you taste

Has the oyster tasting as starter. Amazing the difference in flavour between them. They have an option so two can share. The sole as main course. Cooked to perfection. A nice bottle of Corton-Charlemagne from Arnaud Baillot made an excellent pairing.

Since many years consistent amazing quality! Highly recommended! Mussels and Grilled Heilbutt were to die for. Awesome champagne produced exclusively for the restaurant.
