We started with the Lobster Rangoon, but it was hard to say if there was real lobster in it. The cream cheese filling itself was good. Our hibachi came with decent soup and salad. For the main dish, I ordered the Filet Mignon and Scallops, and both were tender, which is good since they can be easy to overcook. During the hibachi shrimp throwing, no one volunteered but me. It was funny since the hibachi chef threw about nine of them at me back to back. It looks pricey at first, but the portions, especially the rice, are generous and filling. Even though the chef’s English was not native, he did a really good job keeping everyone entertained.

It was such a fun and great experience. The food was excellent, and the chef was amazing! The only reason I gave it one less star is that we felt a bit rushed. Shortly after the chef left, we were brought to-go boxes. Aside from that, it was a great evening overall. I would recommend making a reservation and making sure everyone in your party is present so you can be seated promptly.

We’ve gone to Kobe for years, and it’s been a staple for special occasions in our family. Very good service, and always love the chefs. The last two times we’ve gone, they’ve not been able to honor a reservation. Two times ago, we waited 1.5 hours (reservation was 7:30, got seated at 9… not ideal with grandparents and two kids in tow). This time, we made the reservation for our kiddo’s bday for 6pm. When we got there, there were (literally) over 100 people waiting inside and out, and we learned they were already over an hour behind on their reservations. I felt for the hostesses, and they were being very professional and courteous in spite of it being a difficult position for them to be in. I appreciate not wanting to rush parties along, but that’s just bad business. It’s clearly an issue that management needs to figure out, as we will now be taking our business elsewhere.

This is a great place to go for a large group. The food is prepared right in front of you! The cooks are very entertaining! The table space is a bit crowded and the food is mediocre at best. But it’s a great place to go if you have a large number of people in your party. The atmosphere is loud and chaotic with several cooks preparing food in the same area! The cooks can only seat 10 so if your party is larger, the group will be divided. Parking was difficult to locate. Make sure you park in garage on the second level.

I enjoyed my recent visit to Kobe. The atmosphere is nice and upscale; the service was friendly & very accommodating; and the food was good. It is a good time to sit with people you enjoy. Having the food cooked in front of us was great entertainment!

I had guests in from out of town and planned to show them a good time at a local hibachi grill. I greatly wished I had instead taken them to Oishi in Chesterfield or Kyoto’s in St. Charles because we made reservations for 730 PM, arrived 10 minutes prior to our time and sat for OVER AN HOUR before they seated us. I appreciate that the food is good and that is why people wait but please update your reservation practices because clearly you are doing something wrong. Maybe shadow at some other local hibachi places that dont have that issue yet stay full with reservations. If your average chef or average customer take x amount of time, you need to plan for that, especially on busy weekend evenings. My elderly relatives should not have to wait until nearly 9PM to eat dinner because of the restaurant’s lack of planning and ability to accommodate their own reservations! Horrible experience. Also, if I had been told at the beginning that it would have been that long, I woukd have walked. Instead I was lied to repeatedly, “25 more minutes” “20 more minutes” and so on. Keep in mind, I watched several groups come after us and get seated before us, so this was 100% the restaurant’s doing.

Racism | Mircoagression Completely Ruined My Best Friend’s Birthday Dinner

This review is pretty long, but I am giving low stars due to the racism me and my best friend experienced here. We came last night to celebrate my best friend’s birthday . She always supports Kobe Steakhouse, but after this experience, I’m not sure if we will be back because we were very uncomfortable.

We sat at a table across from two Caucasians who were not happy seeing us, two African Americans, across from them. We spoke to them and they didn’t speak back instead, they gave us the nastiest stares ever the entire time. I even asked my best friend if she wanted to move due to the microaggression we received at the table, but she was afraid we couldn’t because we had a reservation. So unfortunately, we had to sit there and be treated differently across from these two couples who clearly didn’t want us around due to the color of our skin.

We sat and ate very, very uncomfortable at a restaurant we always support. This is the first time we’ve experienced this. The Caucasian couple made funny faces at us, stared at us the entire hour and a half at dinner, and they didn’t talk to each other at all. Instead, their eyes were glued to me and my best friend’s mouths. Every time we talked about how pretty my bestie looked for her birthday, they would look at each other and make a face clearly being shady and very mean for no reason.

The cook who made our food also messed up our steaks by switching them with others at the table, which upset us even more because we were already ready to go due to being so uncomfortable from being judged. Now we had to sit another 30 minutes at the table with people who didn’t like us because we were African Americans, which made the situation even more unpleasant.

Also, the waiter took 45 minutes to bring out the bill, so again we had to wait even longer at the table in awkwardness until he brought the bill out with them. After they made faces at us, stared at us the entire night, and made comments about us comments I won’t repeat, but they were racial I didn’t speak up because I didn’t want to ruin my best friend’s birthday. But she was so upset she even wanted to cry on her birthday because of how we were being treated at the table.

I wish Kobe would monitor who they bring in because we have to sit at the table with others, which is fine, but they need to be aware of racism in the restaurant and handle it better. We are paying a lot of money for a good time and great atmosphere, and it sucks to sit with people who dislike us because of the color of our skin.

I did record them giving us nasty looks and posted it on my TikTok and tagged Kobe Steakhouse STL. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else in their establishment. Overall, my best friend didn’t enjoy her birthday dinner due to racism at this restaurant.

Video is on my TikTok but even the picture below shows you the nasty stares( and they made many racial remarks! ) we got the entire dinner it was very uncomfortable for us. The picture shows how angry they’re were to be seated with us. It’s 2026 racism will never end unfortunately.

It was a great experience with Hibachi. The wait time was about 10 mins but the whole dining experience was about an hour. The food was tasty and the chef was fun!

I always love a nice hibachi place. The food and experience of watching a chef cook it in front of you is the best.

They serve so much food it is almost overwhelming. I ordered the steak entree, it came with soup, a salad, vegetables, rice, noodles, mushrooms, and a couple shrimp. It was great, but there was so much food it made ordering the calamari appetizer unnecessary, though it was very good as well.
