This is by far my favorite Sushi restaurant in Cincinnati. They serve high quality traditional simple sushi as well as some more complex items. The staff and the owner are friendly. The decor is simple and tasteful..

I see that another reviewer gave a terrible review claiming that the fish was bad and “sliced so thin as to be transparent” and I have to wonder where they dined, because they were certainly not describing Ko-Sho.

We enjoyed out experience, but there were bits and pieces that were off that prevented a “great” review. Below is a review of each part of the experience, from best to worst.

1) Staff: we really liked the cook and hostess. They were professional and fun.
2) Philadelphia Roll, spicy: the pieces were quite small, and there were only two ingredients, but it had the best flavor of any Philly Roll I’ve had in the city. The spicy sauce had a very good flavor.
3) Shrimp Tempura Roll: great flavor, and wasn’t full of the gigantic pieces that are awkward to eat.
4) Salmon Skin Roll: spicy I’ve never had this before, and loved it!
5) Plum and Cucumber Roll: I ordered this based off another roll, and enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular, but a pleasant surprise.
6) Spider Roll: the rice-to-filling ratio was roughly 5-to-1, so there was very little flavor. Good size, though.
7) House Salad: for $3.25, this needed so much more. There was almost nothing on the plate besides a few pieces of lettuce, carrots, beets, and some sauce.

So overall, we had surprisingly small portions for the price, but mostly loved the flavors. Give it a try!

Ko-Sho is an excellent choice for those looking for traditional Japanese food! The sushis and sashimis are nice but the Box dinner (a bento) is superb! The owner is the sushi man and he is Japanese. Highly reccomended!

Sour plum and cucumber rolls are the real deal. I’ve been looking for a better sushi place in Cincinnati, and after two years I still can’t find one. The best in Cincy.

Excellent sushi. It was really nice to get a vegetarian Miso Soup option as well. The people here are very nice and the food is delicious.
