Knife Edge Brewing is a Maine Craft Brewery and wood fired pizzeria located between Katahdin Woods and Waters National monument and Baxter State Park. With access to a network of on site single track MTB trails, cross country ski and walking trails, Maine’s famous ITS 85/86 snowmobile trail and the acclaimed fishing and whitewater of the West Branch of the Penobscot, Knife Edge is truly in the midst of the Katahdin Regions recreation epicenter. Featuring a Maine Wood Heat woodfired oven that cooks crust pizza at 700 to 900 degrees in under 3 minutes, the combination of high heat and woodfire produce a great flavor and texture. We currently serve a mix of Maine Microbrews, our own craft beers brewed on site, wine and canned cocktails.

This place is fabulous. Great pizzas. Close to baxter state park. Staff were beyond nice and super fast. Had a beer flight. Loved it. Tables around an outdoor fire or eat inside in a great looking dining room. And they even had vegan cheese for the vegans in my group. Very casual armosphere.

Knife Edge Brewing and Pizza is an absolute gem for anyone who loves great food and craft beer. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere and laid-back vibe set the tone for a perfect meal. Their pizza is truly outstanding — hand-tossed with a crispy, flavorful crust and topped with fresh, quality ingredients. Whether you go for a classic like pepperoni or one of their creative specialty pies, you won’t be disappointed. Each bite delivers that perfect balance of textures and flavors you hope for in a great pizza.
Equally impressive is their lineup of house-brewed beers. From bold IPAs to smooth stouts and refreshing lagers, there’s something on tap for every taste. You can tell the brewers take pride in their craft, and it shows in every pour. The staff is knowledgeable about both the food and the brews, always ready with a recommendation to pair with your meal.
It’s the kind of place where you can hang out with friends, enjoy a casual date night, or relax after a day of exploring the area. Excellent service, unbeatable pizza, and top-tier beers make Knife Edge Brewing a standout. I’ll definitely be back!

After 21 years of living deep in the woods two hours west, I finally made the trip over to Millinocket to check out the culture—and I’m so glad I did.
When I walked in, I was the only patron, yet I was greeted with a warm smile and impressive knowledge of the menu and brews. It’s rare to find a place where service holds the same standard during slow hours as it would at peak times, but this place nailed it.
I ordered a pie and a session beer, which turned out to be one of the smoothest, most enjoyable pours I’ve had in a long while. Stepping out to the patio, I found myself surrounded by crickets and birdsong—a peaceful setting with picnic tables, a firepit, and even cornhole for when things pick up.
Then came the pizza. Honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how good it would be. The presentation alone was professional, but the flavor, smoothness, and balance of it all made it easily the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
This brewery is a gem—beautiful building, thoughtful staff, and a team clearly passionate about what they’re doing. Cheers to them for creating such an amazing experience. I’ll be back, and I highly recommend making the trip.

Knife Edge Brewing was more than just excellent! Their handmade pizzas mirrored authentic Italian in all respects. I was stationed in Italy for 5 years, with several return trips afterwards, so I think I can rate pizza quality reasonably well; Thin crust, fresh ingredients, totally delicious.
Service was excellent and quick, and the staff very friendly. Oh, and their craft beer selection was good too.
Two suggestions for the owners: 1. Place laminated placards by each type of pizza at the Tuesday night pizza buffet table, so that patrons will know what they’re taking; especially if someone has ingredient allergies. 2. The pizza buffet table needs a food warmer above the pizza trays; some of the pizzas were cold.
Definitely a place for a return trip.

What a wonderful hidden gem! My boyfriend and I just happened upon while waiting to attend my son’s soccer game. We had a wonderful meal!! The pizza and wings were to die for. We were even more excited to find that this place and lodging are all snowmobile trail accessible! We will back this winter!

This place is a diamond in the rough! Literally. You may want to consider a high clearance vehicle to get here because it’s about a mile down a dirt road. But well worth the adventure. The atmosphere is great- a beautiful building that really plays to the Maine woods vibe, with live music every Friday. And a cute little gift shop. The pizza is superb (try the butternut!), I have had a lot of good pizza in my life, and this place definitely holds up. Don’t curb your expectation just because this place is in the middle of nowhere- can absolutely recommend Knifes Edge for anyone looking for great pizza in a beautiful indoor setting.

What a great find! We saw the sign on the main road and decided to check it out: it was a rainy Friday during shoulder season and very quiet. I imagine this place gets packed based on the quality of the food , svc and buildings. Meghan was great to us! Definitely coming back for, the food and beer was great!

Wowiezowieee AMAZING PIZZA!!! I’m gluten free, but I was on vacation so…. I indulged & suffered the consequences later I just had to try this pizza. The crust was great, yummy selection of specialty pizzas & they were a good size.
The customer service was great too. They gave us recommendations & just seemed happy to be there. The atmosphere was super chill, granted it wasn’t a wkend, but it just seemed like a really fun place. High ceilings, small store with merch & large entry way & bathrooms. There’s also an outdoor seating area with activities & a view. We couldn’t see the mountain, as advertised, but who cares? It was cool either way. Thumbs up guys, you got it right!!
P.s. They do have a GF option- but… if you know, you know. GF is not the same- IDK what you do to it.

We have a camp nearby and have been here several times. In he summer we have enjoyed meals with our sons/ grandchildren and in winter my husband stops by for coffee and a snack while cross country skiing. While I know it can get very busy with escalated wait times, we have not experienced this as we tend to come on slower days of the week (not the weekend). The food has always been delicious- great pizza and wings, cheesy bread is awesome too. While we don’t drink, my sons have enjoyed the beer. The atmosphere is great- we enjoyed playing corn hole outside while waiting for our pizza on our most recent visit and have enjoyed live music in the past. Staff has always been pleasant and efficient. After eating dinner here a few nights ago, my granddaughter wanted to stop here again for a post-rafting snack with her Dad. Unfortunately, when they came out to leave, they noticed they had a flat tire. As my son began to change the tire to his temporary spare, a kind gentleman offered his help. He went back to his house, got a plug kit and plugged the tire, allowing them to return to camp with less chance of another issue with a temporary tire. As it turns out, the kind gentleman was the owner- you don’t get better customer service than that. Thank you! We will be coming to Knife Edge (and River Drivers Restaurant- same ownership) for years to come- quality food, quality people.

Great beers, friendly people, and cool location! The food was fine overall but more impressed with the beers – butternut squash pizza and chicken/pesto pizza were alright, and the caesar salad was a bit disappointing w/ pre-shredded parm, dressing packets (not fresh or made in-house) and so-so croutons that kind of seemed pre-packaged/store-bought.
