Social Profile:

The Knickerbocker Saloon, Indiana’s oldest bar, has stories to share. President Grant, Mark Twain, Al Capone, and Neil Armstrong have visited us for a drink (or several) over the 180 years we have been in business. Established in 1835, the Knickerbocker has been serving Greater Lafayette (and visitors alike) an array of cocktails, beers, and wines, all with our renowned hospitality. We now offer food from Professor Joe’s and Digby’s. Whether our guests are looking to enjoy a drink or two conversing with friends on our patio, have us cater a private event, or want to have a night out listening to Ryan Rollins, Knickerbocker’s own piano man, a People’s Live show, or some upcoming local talent, we have you covered.

Opened in 1835, this landmark saloon features an ornate bar, a small music stage & basic pub fare.

We had my husband’s retirement party here in the private room and it was fantastic. The place has so much character that you don’t even really need decorations. The service was great. The prices can’t be beat. They played fun music the whole time. They don’t serve food so the amazing Bistro Market, which is adjacent, catered it. I highly recommend this place for a private party. The guests were all commenting that we didn’t realize how fun this bar was and we will come back! I wish we had taken more pictures to do it justice, but we were too busy having fun.

A nice place in the center of town near the town hall. Jen was super friendly and attentive. They had drink specials. A great place for drinks and a few beers.

Beautifully aged saloon. They say it’s Indiana’s Oldest Bar… didn’t have time to fact check this… maybe on my next trip to Indiana. Double shots on Thursday.

Great old bar to stop in for a drink. I didn’t see anything on draft but large beer selection that seems to rotate daily. Great daily specials with a huge martini menu. Outdoor area with an old jazz Vibe. Def worth a stop.

My favorite bar in Indiana. You walk in to a live band at the door, a fun bar scene stretching to the back of the long and spacious front room, perfect for making new friends. And if you are there meeting people just head to the right and you’ll find a relaxed seating area with soft lighting and lots of booths and interesting rock themed decor along the walls. The back room is equal in size to the main bar and has two dart boards, a pool table, pin ball machine, and also several high seated tables along the near wall in addition to the booths. The drinks are great, the bar is always full but not overcrowded, and the vibes are

My experience here has mostly been good, sometimes you have to wait a long time at the bar to get your drink (but the bartenders are always nice) but that can be expected anywhere if it’s busy. On karaoke night there is this girl who tries to sell you her crystals and brings them up multiple times which makes it a little uncomfortable when you are just trying to have a good time with drinks. But other than that it’s normally a good time and I have a lot of fun there. Bingo with the karaoke is also a nice touch and it’s nice of them to give out free prizes.

They deserve the 1 star for having the piano man (he deserves more), sad the service wasn’t as good.

Great dive kind of bar. The band was a blues band, just a but loud so you really couldn’t talk while playing shuffle board.
