M.BBQ – The ONLY Charcoal Korean BBQ in Oceanside! Experience the real deal: our premium meats are grilled over blazing hot charcoal. That extreme heat sears the meat instantly, sealing in juices and giving it that smoky, flavorful crust that gas grills can’t replicate. No waiting around – self-serve style means you grill at your own pace, exactly how you like it. Pair it with our Signature Refreshing Drinks for the perfect combo. And don’t forget… every meal comes with FREE Ice Cream to cool things down after the heat. Bring your friends, bring your appetite — the charcoal is already lit.

Pros:
– Fast, friendly service
– Large selection of meats, sauces, and sides
– Lowkey, casual atmosphere
Cons:
– Very loud (that is a disadvantage at most K-bbq places because of the fans over the grills)
– They automatically add gratuity, so no matter how you feel that’s what you’re paying. For a family of 6 we paid $244
We are visiting from Phoenix and originally were trying to go to Gaja across the street, but they had a wait for 1 hour. Since we really wanted to try Korean bbq while we were here we decided to go to KM.
As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated which was great because we were a party of 6. They quickly got utensils, plates, cups, and water out and started up the grills. There was a wide variety of sauces, meats, and side dishes. The meats were really good quality and the marinades (bulgogi, spicy, and teriyaki) were really good. They even had dessert! There were sesame balls, Chinese sugar donuts, and thrifty’s ice cream.
Our drinks were always filled and dirty plates were whisked away quickly. They even replaced our grill tops when they got too dirty!
I appreciated the lowkey atmosphere after a day at the beach. Gaja had more of a “you gotta dress up for this one” type of vibe which we definitely were not fitting We also loved the kpop music videos playing on the tvs! I wish we lived here so we could go to this location more
It’s not labeled, it’s not on any menu, they didn’t give us a heads up like any other restaurant would do. Nope, you just gotta pay up that $75 for 2 people buddy
I like the concept of getting your own meat. Don’t waste now. Only get what you can eat so they don’t hike the prices.
The service is always good.
The food is meh but good enough for me since there’s no good KOREAN BBQ here in North County.
I personally would love the pork belly to be more fatty. The dipping sauce choices are also just alright. Love the sesame balls for dessert.
Overall, I would return often if I’m craving KBBQ and don’t want to drive far.
