I ordered the ground steak with gravy and onions, baked potato, and butter beans. It was excellent! Also had the lemon pie. It too was excellent. My husband ordered the fried chicken. It was moist but the breading had no seasoning (could use some salt and pepper or something to spice it up just a bit). He also had a potato and salad. We recommend this restaurant especially if you travel through the area on occasion like we do.

Even if we travel out of our way , we go to Kline’s ….
The best !
It’s easy to get to from LaVale , and from downtown Cumberland. Plus the drive is beautiful winter , spring summer or fall . The narrows holds great historical value . Stories galore . Let alone the “Lover’s Leap ” yarn from years ago
Many things to see and do in Allegany County . Cumberland is the “Queen City ” . First Iron Rails , locks , canalways , brewery’s….. Many many more than can be listed .
Cone & enjoy

Atmosphere was great and reminded me of family…the food was little unseasoned but goid enough for me to return.
I will say this tho a waitress should never lose track of how to treat customers no mater if the beginner the end of the shift. Again didn’t bother me enough to deem this a bed place. Good job! And will return and others should stop..

Just outside Cumberland at the beginning of the narrows. An older establishment with loyal regulars. Prices are very reasonable, they have specials for the day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. A no fuss restaurant.

Service was a little slow
It was around 2 pm
The servers were doing double duty ! ! ! ⭐
A very very nice young man , who pulled a piece of coconut pie out of his hat , kinda deal …. It had to have been whipped up just for “Leslie ” , she wanted coconut cake so bad . He found her a piece of coconut creme pie and she was so thrilled she giggled like a little school girl . The dining area was full of laughter , talk and family’s. How wonderful to see . ❤️
You can never go wrong at this historical site . It is at the foothills if the famous “Lover’s Leap ” stories …. It is hardly a wonderous site to have seen how high the Wills Creek would have been in the settlers time , for anyone to have jumped off that cliff …..
The food at Kline’s is exceptional. The desserts are all homemade . These pies melt in your mouth . I had a piece of pumpkin pie . The crust was overly dark but the taste was Devine ! ! ! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Appearances can be deceiving
Three of us ordered the Pork & Sauerkraut ❤️ tenderest pork I have ever had ! The sauerkraut melted in your mouth . . . . .
Needless to say the mashed potatoes and that gravy was better than Grandma’s …
Crab cakes with butter beans n coleslaw was a delight for another family member. Baked haddock and fries was a favorite too .
Just stop in … Morning noon or night … The price is right
The food a delight .
Your belly will be full
Can’t go wrong at Kline’s ….

Enjoy
Eat
And play ….

Nice hometown restaurant, stopped in passing through for breakfast. When you enter, the bathrooms are straight in front of you, restaurant entrance door to the right, bar to the left.
Seat yourself. Staff was friendly, we were waited on quickly BUT once our food arrived we weren’t checked upon until the bill came. The ham & cheese omelet was ok. The eggs over easy were hard! Bacon extra crispy was undercooked. I would have sent it back but like I said the waitress never stopped back to see how things were, nor was my coffee refilled, I was glad I also ordered a water. Hash browns or home fries do not come with any of of the breakfast items except the ultimate breakfast. So you need to order them separately. They were out of hash browns so we got the under seasoned home fried potatoes that tasted like they were re-heated several times. Most of my plate was not eaten. I did mention the hard eggs it when she brought the check, she didn’t say a word but a -$3.00 reduction was taken off. Maybe it was just a bad morning for the cook.
They have daily specials on a board that’s not shown on the menu.
Despite the issues I would return to support a hometown non chain establishment.

My family and I found Kline’s on a search for breakfast nearby. Being in business for 70 years doesn’t hurt as well. A definite dinner, local, hometown feel as you enter. You just know home cooking is the special of the day! Breakfast was very good at prices that do not break the bank. I found the sausage gravy to be top notch! Eggs ordered to your liking, homemade pies, my suggestion, come for breakfast and stop back for dinner! Service was very good, endless coffee, you just can’t find a place like this all the time, no rush, can take you back to a simpler time..70 years is proof they are doing everything right!

Great service, yummy food and super reasonable prices! The kids ordered from the all day breakfast menu and we had sandwiches. My husband wasn’t fan of his cheese steak (he hates flavors and toppings) and the server was nice enough to take it off the bill. The fries are outstanding – thick, crispy, and taste freshly cut!

Best place to stop and get a real home cooked meal. The soups have yet to disappoint (Chilli, bean, chicken Rice, & more) I highly recommend! burger & fries , lunches, dinners, soups, deserts, stop in & try something you won’t be disappointed. Staff is very attentive. I will stop everytime I’m in town for sure.

A wonderful Friday morning breakfast at Kline’s Restaurant. Our food was plentiful and delicious. The sausage patty was oversized and the spices were just the right amount. Loved the attention to detail in the Halloween and Fall decor throughout. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely stop here again when in Cumberland.
