Five star homemade deliciousness ❤️
Even if we travel out of our way , we go to Kline’s ….
The best !
It’s easy to get to from LaVale , and from downtown Cumberland. Plus the drive is beautiful winter , spring summer or fall . The narrows holds great historical value . Stories galore . Let alone the “Lover’s Leap ” yarn from years ago
Many things to see and do in Allegany County . Cumberland is the “Queen City ” . First Iron Rails , locks , canalways , brewery’s….. Many many more than can be listed .
Cone & enjoy
I will say this tho a waitress should never lose track of how to treat customers no mater if the beginner the end of the shift. Again didn’t bother me enough to deem this a bed place. Good job! And will return and others should stop..
Prices fare
It was around 2 pm
The servers were doing double duty ! ! ! ⭐
A very very nice young man , who pulled a piece of coconut pie out of his hat , kinda deal …. It had to have been whipped up just for “Leslie ” , she wanted coconut cake so bad . He found her a piece of coconut creme pie and she was so thrilled she giggled like a little school girl . The dining area was full of laughter , talk and family’s. How wonderful to see . ❤️
You can never go wrong at this historical site . It is at the foothills if the famous “Lover’s Leap ” stories …. It is hardly a wonderous site to have seen how high the Wills Creek would have been in the settlers time , for anyone to have jumped off that cliff …..
The food at Kline’s is exceptional. The desserts are all homemade . These pies melt in your mouth . I had a piece of pumpkin pie . The crust was overly dark but the taste was Devine ! ! ! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Appearances can be deceiving
Three of us ordered the Pork & Sauerkraut ❤️ tenderest pork I have ever had ! The sauerkraut melted in your mouth . . . . .
Needless to say the mashed potatoes and that gravy was better than Grandma’s …
Crab cakes with butter beans n coleslaw was a delight for another family member. Baked haddock and fries was a favorite too .
Just stop in … Morning noon or night … The price is right
The food a delight .
Your belly will be full
Can’t go wrong at Kline’s ….
And at the register was homemade Water eggs YES , COCONUT & PEANUT BUTTER ! Several came up the mountain with us
Enjoy
Eat
And play ….
The railway has a mountain coaster … Pedal cart thingy … Allegany County has plenty things to do . Plus there is Rocky Gap State Park for hiking , biking trails all the way into Pa. .
Seat yourself. Staff was friendly, we were waited on quickly BUT once our food arrived we weren’t checked upon until the bill came. The ham & cheese omelet was ok. The eggs over easy were hard! Bacon extra crispy was undercooked. I would have sent it back but like I said the waitress never stopped back to see how things were, nor was my coffee refilled, I was glad I also ordered a water. Hash browns or home fries do not come with any of of the breakfast items except the ultimate breakfast. So you need to order them separately. They were out of hash browns so we got the under seasoned home fried potatoes that tasted like they were re-heated several times. Most of my plate was not eaten. I did mention the hard eggs it when she brought the check, she didn’t say a word but a -$3.00 reduction was taken off. Maybe it was just a bad morning for the cook.
They have daily specials on a board that’s not shown on the menu.
Despite the issues I would return to support a hometown non chain establishment.
