We used to go to Liberty Depot for every birthday, anniversary and graduation dinners – then after it burned we kind of forgot about it and didn’t even know if it was still operating. I drove through Milton 2 weeks ago and thought I should try and find out if there is still a restaurant there – well, I found Klig’s and then told my brother we should go back. We met there tonight and got a tour from the original owner, she showed us the train car that we had many meals in and also the larger space towards the back that we had birthday and graduation dinners – about 20 years ago!! I had the cheese steak and my brother had a chicken sandwich – both were excellent!!! I have had cheesesteak at the famous cheesesteak places in Philadelphia and Klig’s cheesesteak is the best one I have ever had – seriously!!!!!
I am glad I drove through Milton 2 weeks ago and remembered about this restaurant – we will be back for sure!!!!
Thank you for the tour!!!

Kilgs Union Depot is a gem in the heart of downtown Milton. Amazing experience. We went there on Friday specifically for the fish fry on a suggestion… and it did not disappoint! The fish was perfect, flakey and battered on site. GET THE POTATO PANCAKES as the potato. Ever had maple syrup with you fish fry? I did tonight. Amazing. And a man-size serving of slaw. Great staff, Jeff the owner was helping us tonight; genuinely good dude who took the time to tell us about anything on the menu, while still saying hello and goodbye to everyone coming through the door. Believe he said he and his wife have owned the joint for 26 years. (Apparently the pizza is really good as well, we will check that out next.) And the prices are really reasonable. $25 / person including a couple cocktails each. Lastly, it’s a unique little location, outdoor seating, fireplace inside, games for kids and adults alike. Great staff, great laid back atmosphere, would recommend to anyone. This a great pub and grill. Go check it out!

Just had friday fish fry and it was AWESOME ! I had 3 piece fried cod and it was hot, flaky, moist, with a crispy batter and it was very tasty. My husband had the perch and said it too was very, very good and so was the whiskey sour. The server/host/ bartender was friendly. Definately recommend.

Have been here twice. Both times, the food was okay at best, and the service was horrendous. Sadly, I thought that with my second visit, it would have been better. I did understand the server was new and made a lot of mistakes. I totally understand that. However, the first visit there was just the same bad service, and sadly, that is with a seasoned server.

Attention to detail makes this place stand out. Clean, bright and the food is hot. Definitely recommended.

Waited 90 minutes. Self procured menus. Grabbed drinks from the bar because no wait staff at the table. No food. Four different servers checking….. But the location and the fire place was nice atmosphere. Just not a well run operation unfortunately. Cheers

We ordered fish fry to go, disappointed! Fish overcooked to the point of dry. Potato pancakes disgusting, made from pancake batter with potatoes, no onion, salt or pepper had a vanilla after taste. This is Wisconsin!!!
Coleslaw was not kept separate so the juice was in my fish my
3pc fish is now a 2pc in the garbage it went. I don’t like Coleslaw asked if they have applesauce, nope! Don’t waste your money here I blew $30.00 Cross this place off the list never again!!!

Ordered 4 old fashions… $24 and no booze! Go to Junction Pub around the corner and spend less and you can actually taste something besides the club soda!

Food was tasteless AT BEST, table was covered in (god knows what animal’s) feces. At one point we were literally attacked by a swarm of bees. It was easier to catch up on the latest staff gossip than get a napkin and glass of water; servers didn’t even know what was on their own menu, which was impressive. All in all, the best part was the carpet of cigarette butts, so soft beneath our feet. As for the cheese curds— save yourself the diarrhea and go to Culver’s.
