This restaurant brings all the nostalgia with the old school diner feel and counter seating. It’s where they pour the coffee while you’re perusing the menu and also topping you off often. The best type of coffee that tasted amazing black. Everything was fresh and clearly house made. The sausage gravy had lots of sausage chunks and was perfectly peppery. I decided to add home fries with peppers and onions and I love how the veggies still had a crunch and weren’t soggy. My husband got a couple of the lemon blueberry hotcakes with a side of bacon. The bacon was crispy and the hotcakes had an amazing lemony flavor with fresh blueberries throughout. They really didn’t need a lot of syrup. Portions were huge and filling. The service was quick and staff was friendly. We’ll be back!

Prices excellent. I had side of hash, 2 eggs over medium, sausage gravy and 4 delicious brisket. Coffee. For 22 dollars.
Service was quick and courteous. Returned with coffee refills numerous times.

The food was nothing special. It was good, but it wasn’t like noteworthy to where I’d wanna go back when there are plenty of other breakfast joints that taste the same. The atmosphere was cool and I get that it’s iconic, but it was just very decent. The service was good and fast, probably the best part of it. It was also ridiculously expensive. I paid over $30 for a drink, hot chocolate, two waffles, home fries, side of sausage, and one pumpkin pancake. That should be no more than $20 at the most.

Server was wonderful and it’s comfortable here but the food was below average. Unevenly cooked eggs and they use margarine. Get real butter – how cheap! Also no green tea. Green tea is not hard to find

Old time diner feel, great attentive service. Food was solid, menu consists of basically anything that can be made on a flat top…omlettes, pancakes, hash, etc. Liked my dirty southern omlette. There are about 5 tables and a counter…was pretty busy the full time we were in there. If you like dinners and like a straight forward breakfast…this is the place.

One of a kind restaurant. On my visit from Miami, Fl I had to visit this staple while I was back in Willowick.
I love the service, the aesthetic, the food! I had the opportunity to have a blueberry Belgian crème waffles.
Super delicious each and every time!
Must go to dinner

Always fun to visit a place for the first time …. extra nice for today’s visit to Kleinfeld’s since my daughter took me here for Father’s Day. Cozy little old-school diner with an attentive & friendly staff. I had the Kielbasa and eggs and it was great. I was even asked if I wanted a side of horseradish on the side – of course!

Small mom and pop diner in historic downtown Willoughby. A great place to enjoy coffee and an inexpensive breakfast. Always greeted with a smile and hot java.

Even though I grew up in Lake County this was my first time at Kleifeld’s & it won’t be our last! Service was great. A diner menu with affordable, great choices. We ordered a BLT, ingredients were fresh with a generous portion of bacon. French fries were great too. We also had an order of corned beef hash, eggs over easy, potatoes & I swapped toast for a biscuit. Everything tasted great and was filling. Next time I’d stick with rye toast instead of a biscuit, the biscuit was just meh. This place is a staple in downtown Willoughby, it’s a throwback in a good way. Even has those individual juke boxes along the counter. I’m guessing a lot of regulars frequent the place, but if you’ve never been you need to try it. You won’t leave hungry.

Good place for a conventional breakfast (pancakes, french toast, eggs any style, oatmeal …) or lunch (burgers and sandwiches). Service was friendly and relaxed. Seating is limited and parking in Willoughby is always an adventure. But if you are looking for quality food at reasonable prices stop here.
