Reviews
Parking: There’s a private parking lot. Finding a spot can be a hit or miss.
Ambiance/Environment: Vibes, music, and great food all around. They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. We visited right at opening, so we were seated right away.
Service: Shout out to Jenny for the hospitality! She even cooked the duck and mixed the kimchi fried rice for us. Some servers speak only Spanish, and others speak Korean with enough English to get by.
Foods: We got the Duck Combo with Kimchi Fried Rice added on. The Duck Combo came with kimchi pancake, steamed egg, soy bean tofu soup, corn cheese, banchan, and of course grilled and spicy seasoned duck mixed with rice cakes, potatoes, mushrooms, and chives. There were lots of duck pieces, and they were cooked well. Make sure to dip with one of their sauces for more flavor! The kimchi pancake was crispy around the edges and soft in the center just as I prefer it. The steamed egg and corn cheese tasted as expected. The soy bean tofu soup tasted light and delicious. The kimchi fried rice was entertaining to watch as Jenny was mixing everything for us. It was sooo flavorful; the kimchi flavor was on point!
Pricing: The combo was definitely worth it! It was more than we expected lol. Portions are shareable at least between 2-3 people.
The owner is so friendly and cooked for us, very convenient so we don’t have to cooked. We ordered duck combo- the banchan is so fresh ( kimchi pancake, soy bean paste soup, steamed egg..) the duck is so fresh! The owner grilled for us with garlic, mushrooms, chives… very flavorful. I can taste it is high quality right away. At the end there’s kimchi fried rice which is a good combination
I would definitely go to this one again!
What we ate:
– The Duck Combo: grilled duck, steamed egg, kimchi pancake, soybean paste soup, corn cheese, banchan (side dishes: potato, mushroom, rice cake, chives)
– Kimchi Fried Rice
– Spicy Cold Noodles
The meat was tender and juicy, showcasing the natural flavors of fresh duck without any unpleasant odors.
The gopchang here is prepared with exceptional care, resulting in a clean, rich flavor that melts in your mouth. Grilled to perfection over charcoal, it has a delightful smoky aroma and a slightly crispy texture on the outside while staying juicy inside. As a Korean, I can say that the taste of this restaurant’s gobchang is something most Koreans can’t help but love.
Kkokko in Gardena is a unique family owned Korean barbecue that specializes in intestines and duck.
If you haven’t tried intestines before I really recommend this spot! They have 5 different types of intestines with my favorites being large and small. It’s especially tasty dipped in sesame oil and salt.
I also bet you’ve never had this duck platter before. The meat comes out so tender and yummy mixed with the grilled garlic.
You can also end your meal with a cheesy Kimchi fried rice enjoy
Portions are big, the meat quality is top-tier, and you can tell they’ve been doing this for years.
Taste: Overall great taste for all the items, from the sides, corn cheese, soups, steamed egg, to the main dish. Has the small, large intestine and abomasum medium combo which was 73.99. It came with all the sides. Well worth it. Felt super full and still had leftovers to take back home.
Setting: Clean and quaint setting. Love the relaxed vibes. Air conditioned so doesn’t smell stuffy like the typical bbq place.
Service: Great service, got everything we needed and staff was attentive.
Wonderfully intimate place for a date, the staff was very friendly & helpful, and the food was excellent
We had the Beef Brisket and the Roasted Duck and they were both wonderful.
The beef pairs well with all the sides they give you, and the Duck was cooked perfectly, like a beautifully thick cut of bacon
had a lovely time, can’t recommend enough
