The mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like they were from a box and were not seasoned, the yams were served warm, not hot. The fried corn was cold. The chicken was dry and salty. The burger was not fresh and also served warm. The fried fish was soggy. Another patron who ordered the meatloaf literally sent it back and walked out. Then they had the audacity to charge 3.5% to use a card and didn’t give me a debit card option. The gentleman that was working there was pleasant but the young lady became very defensive when we have feedback on the food quality. Please save yourself a trip – not worth going to this place to eat.

We were excited to try this place, despite what we had heard about the service and lack of supply of ingredients to serve the full menu. We looked at the menu online and everything seemed great, until we actually got our food for takeout. The salads were extremely small (the size of a fast food hamburger box for $8) and lacked majority of the ingredients they were supposed to have based on the menu. The sides were extremely under seasoned and bland. The burger was as generic as it gets and honestly looked/tasted like it was from a cafeteria. Though the ribs had decent flavor, there was a ton of fat and gristle, and the side order was incorrect. Nothing tasted homemade. For the price charged, we expected more food, more flavor, and something that closely resembled the online menu pictures. Unfortunately, we received none of these. We were super disappointed and will not be returning.

The worst food I have ever eaten at a restaurant. The fried chicken was dry and bland. The mac and cheese felt old and bland. The mashed potatoes had the consistency of play dough. They were extremely bland. There was little to no seasoning at all put on them. The service was subpar, seemingly understaffed. The atmosphere was nice, it felt cozy. Overall a bad experience, would not recommend.

Hands down the best soul food I had in awhile! My family and I frequent various restaurants in the triad area and recently returned from Kj’s soul food and loved it!! The quality of food is authentic and really tasty. I had the chopped steak and collards and it reminded me of a nice home cooked meal!
It wasn’t overseasoned or greasy and the portions were just right.
Customer service is another important dining experience for me. Upon entering the restaurant they were so friendly and hard at work. I have a newborn and a very chatty child, not only did they chat with my son; they wanted to be sure my newborn was okay with the volume of the music. While waiting for our food we saw the wait staff checking on customers and wiping tables down.
My family and I will be back! Make the drive and try them, you’ll end up as regulars!

My wife and I drove all the way from Kernersville to visit this restaurant, we walked in the door and there were two couples sitting at tables and we waited at the front desk for 15 minutes and no one came to help us. We never saw any staff we didn’t get to place an order and we decided to leave. I would not recommend making a trip to this restaurant, even though we did not get a chance to taste any of the food. First impressions are lasting impressions.

first timer. now the cs was out the door but kj (im assuming) n i worked it out.still needs major work. and i dont mind a relaxed work atmosphere but they were in their sat tees n bball shorts cmon now..now the food was good. the sides are a scoop and underseasoned. i get that bc i believe most places want to cater to older folk or ppl with certain conditions BUT them oxtails were on point to me. they were meaty AND fatty but thats how I love em. but u get ur moneys worth from that alone. cornbread got cold as soon as he sat it on the table so i didnt eat it. ill be back when im in the area..oh and the establishment was very clean esp them bathrooms

Some of the worst food I have actually ever eaten in my life, the mac and cheese was one solid clump, the French fries were freezer burned, and my hot honey wings were just general Tsos chicken sauce put on mediocre wings. Will never be coming back here.

They is not real soul food they really need a cook. The steak was not a rib eye, it was a New York Strip, and it was tough as hell. Don’t go. There. I wish we had a option to tip

I was recommended to try this restaurant by some dear friends, but they must have had a different cook from when I went. The food was not that great at all. I was very disappointed from the recommendation of my friends.

My wings and sweet potato fries were good. Cornbread tasted very old. Probably won’t go back.
