Reviews
On Friday night, my husband and I stopped by around 9:02 pm hoping to grab a beer and share a couple of sushi rolls. Online and on the door, the restaurant is listed as open until 10 pm. When we walked in, there were still several people seated and actively eating. I asked at the front if they were open until 10, and the hostess looked around and said the last seating was at 9 pm. While I understand last seating policies, it was literally two minutes past, and there were clearly guests still dining.
After some back and forth, we were seated—though it felt very begrudging. Our waiter was kind and professional, but it was obvious we were being rushed. We understood the situation and made sure to order immediately and eat quickly. We were completely finished and ready to leave by 9:32 pm.
Before leaving, my husband asked to use the restroom and was met with eye rolls and attitude because staff had already started cleaning. That was honestly the most disappointing part—we were paying customers, had already finished our meal quickly out of courtesy, and were still well before the posted closing time.
If the true cutoff is 9 pm, that’s totally fine—but the hours should reflect that. The experience left us feeling unwelcome, which was surprising given how much we usually enjoy Kizuna.
We’ll still be back because the food is great, but we hope the service and communication around closing hours improves.
The edemame we got was hard, like they were overcooked.
For the “sushi” it’s average to below average. Similar to supermarket sushi. Didn’t try anything from the grill.
Service was good. Very busy but they were attentive to us. Even though this place has Japanese cuisine, the place is run by Chinese.
I expect when I eat out to be treated to food better than supermarket. The food quality did not meet my expectations hence the overall rating for the restaurant.
The price was ok. For two we came out about $100 with tax+tip.
Why? Im not sure why.
Anyway.. service was great and attentive. Friendly staff and food comes relatively quick.
Will try teppan side next time.
