Kizl’s Restaurant – Bristol/Southington, CT.

Small quaint family restaurant with tables and booths. Open from 6am til 2pm.
Plenty of Parking.
Service was outstanding.
Prime Rib Dinner for 12.99 on Fridays which comes with mashed potato and a vegetable. Don’t know the price of the soup/cole slaw.

Chicken and Rice Soup made in house. Chopped carrots, diced onions, chopped celery and cubed chicken. Lots of rice..perfect amount of broth to bowl of soup ratio. Came with a couple packs of crackers as well but don’t need them.
Cole Slaw made in house and has the right amount of sweetness to it that you don’t even need a dash of salt.
Prime Rib was a huge slab and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Came with an au ju/sauce on the bottom of the plate..you absolutely do NOT need steak sauce. It does have some fat on it but that’s where the best flavor is when you get/cook a steak.
On a scale of 1-5…easily a 9..on a scale of 1-10..easily a 15. This place is a hidden gem, the food is delicious, service is outstanding and I will be back.

Kizl’s in Southington was very busy on a Thursday morning. 4 stars coming mainly from service. Colleen was very friendly and attentive throughout. Breakfast food is “ok”. You definitely get a lot for the price. You won’t be hungry. But don’t expect an omg this food is amazing reaction. Bacon overdone, pancakes underdone. Overall ok with eggs, hash browns and toast. It’s a diner type vibe and if you go in knowing it’s that kind of food you’ll be fine. Food was served fast even when the place was so busy.

Tasty breakfast with very healthy portions of food..large selection of omelettes and meals and a great selection of sides. Pancakes were huge and very filling. The staff was friendly and our server was accommodating to our party of 6. She never flinched at the substitutions, refills, or additional requests. We would return for sure

We went here over Christmas having not been here for a while. The service was so bad. Took forever just to get a waitress. Our food came and we still didn’t have silverware. Every time we needed something the waitress would say oh yes I was going to get that and we’d have to wait again. It seemed like people around us were having issues with service too. Food was sub par too.

Stopped by Kizl’s after attending, Cliff Con at the Doubletree in Bristol (great show for comics and other collectables).
There was a bit of a wait but they sat us within 15 minutes. It was Sunday late morning (around 11:30 a.m.). It was definitely a majority of an older crowd, I am assuming maybe coming from church. They were also some other families there. Everyone seemed to know the lot of other people in the place between the guests and the staff. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

Three of us sat in a booth in the main dining room. The booths are spacious enough to seat a larger person and the tables are not attached to the wall so it can be adjusted to accommodate different size people on each side of the table Two of us got the Kizl slam breakfast and I got the fish and chips.

There’s a ton of food on the breakfast plates and although my plate only had two pieces of fish, they tasted very fresh and was a perfect amount with the fries and coleslaw. I tend to be particular about my coleslaw and it was just sweet enough for me to enjoy it. I also found the prices to be more reasonable than most diners these days. Everything is expensive now, but this is definitely lower price than other places. I also took a picture of the QR code for the menu that is on each of the table corners when you are seated.

I would definitely recommend this place if you live in the area or are coming to visit. Lisa P. Was our server and she was great!

A Diner in the realist way. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is warm and homey. Gourmet nope. Honest food yes and nostalgic.

Well sad to say this was our first and last time there, we decided to give it a go. Well it didn’t go so well, for our drinks we kindly asked for no lemon, which we got, photo provided below, i ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries with just mayo, cheese and bacon well when the burger came out we bit into it and sad to say way under cooked and cold as well as the fries, we sort of lost our appetite when we seen how dirty the floors where and not to mention under our table as well as many others, all photos provided below. One of the waitress’s seen me taking pictures then all of a sudden two people decided to clean up right after. We will never be back, if you think this is ok to run a business im sorry, we still ate but were very disappointed by this,.

My recent experience picking up an online order from Kizl’s was very negative due to the unprofessional attitude of the man at the counter. Despite paying in advance, I was not greeted upon arrival. When I took a moment to verify my order, the employee reacted with hostility, yelling, ‘What are you doing?’ When I explained my reason, his curt reply was ‘it’s there,’ and he then turned away in apparent disgust after being reminded I had already paid. While I can’t speak to the food quality, the rude and disrespectful service was so off-putting that I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.” As a military spouse with travels around the world this definitely was worst experience than anyplace we’ve been.
