Holy cow. We stumbled into this restaurant and left blown away. This was seriously great. Started with salmon carpaccio, cheese katsu, and crab rangoons. Crab rangoons were unique in a good way!!! They had a mix of imitation crab and real crab and were fried perfectly. Our server Summer gave us a great recs on the bento box, shrimp fried rice, and the volcano roll. She was extremely attentive to our table and also super kind. Highly recommend

was recommended this place by my manager at work, he used to eat at sushi maru which is what this location used to be. i saw that this is rebranded and under different ownership and gave it a try. it is AMAZING! i got the rock n roll, the volcano roll, and the torched hamachi roll. it was all so yummy , no complaints. jonah was our server and his service and vibe was very welcoming and warm. 10/10. will definitely come back here!

Went here for lunch and got the spicy pork bulgogi, and it came with miso soup, Korean rice, pickled radish slices, and Korean mashed potatoes (never heard of this before!). Big portion of meat and everything was delicious. Good service. Reasonable prices.

Absolutely loved it! The sushi is a must-try – super fresh and flavorful. The place itself is also really nice and cozy, and the service is excellent. A real gem!

Steak overdone. Plus I saw guy prepping with no gloves. He picked up personal drink cup several lines and proceeded to cut scallions with no gloves.
Had the rock-roll sushi role. It was ok. Atleast the sushi chef had gloves on.

We adore Kiwa. It’s so close to us (from the military base), the food is always great, and they are efficient in service. They aren’t usually super crowded, but I think it would be good to get them there! Go try it! I especially recommend the Yam yam roll, dumplings, and spicy pork bulgolgi.

This is my new favorite! Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for families or small groups. The staff was so kind, making sure we had everything we needed and even offering great recommendations. Shot out to Brian & Sung.

I went in the expectation that the food would be decent, maybe it is for the area? The crab ragoons have great reviews on here so I took the risk knowing they are unconventional, I am not sure what the though process with these was but the bay leaves are a little weird the flavor profile also off.
The sushi was very good – the prices are much higher than even Washington DC nice restaurants though , 8.00 for tuna nagiri , 12.00 for crab ragoon and the doll was 7.50
The Korean food didn’t look good , I was hopeful opted to just only get appetizers.

When I heard there was a place in tampa that did Japanese AND Korean bbq ….. I was super intrigued as these are 2 of my fav cuisines. Kiwa totally exceeded my expectations. First off, the menu was even bigger than it let off online. They had so many specials and innovative dishes we jumped on immediately. I asked them for recommendations and our waitress and the hostess were beyond helpful and patient with us. We started with some Aperol spritz (huge!) and yellowtail carpaccio which literally melted in your mouth and had the perfect kick from the sriracha & jalapeño on top. The sauce it was in was absolutely lovely as well – a vinaigrette vibe. Then we had the cheese katsu which also had chicken. Aside from being served with rice and Korean slaw (YUMM) this really gave me chicken Parmesan vibes. It was so so delicious and definitely blew me away. We also had the crispy rice with tuna, avocado, and some veggies/salad which was the refreshers we needed. I loved their take on the crispy rice – the additives of the toppings did add a lot for me. We ordered diet cokes – they were super crispy & hit the spot as we went into the next 2 Korean dishes we ordered (bulgogi and spicy pork). Both came with rice, Korean mashed potatoes, & an orange garnish and all sides totally elevated the main dishes. They also came with miso soup which hit hard for me and I’m not usually the biggest miso soup fan. The flavors of the beef and pork oh my gawddd. The spices, the sauce, everything. I couldn’t get enough. We were pretty full at this point but powered through the rolls we ordered – we went with Kiwa & Crunchy Krab specialty rolls. The Kiwa was the perfect balance to the crunchy Krab which was a deep fried roll our server recommended. Both were so delicious and as an avid spicy mayo lover, didn’t need anymore toppings since they already had and were amazing as is. It was time to order some of their well known bobas and after careful consideration and recs from our server, we went with the Thai milk tea & Oreo milk tea both with tapioca boba – YUMMMMM. Refreshing and the perfect sweet treat….. then they surprised us with fried Oreos & vanilla ice cream and ugh it was the perfect meal cap. Can’t wait to come back and try literally everything on the menu. The vibes were also great and the staff was perfectly friendly. No notes tbh.

Fish quality was insane. Salmon was so fresh and buttery. And the combination in the Kiwa roll was everything I loved. Asian sensation is also another favorite; I think it had fresh yellowtail instead of the shrimp tempura like the kiwa roll. So I ordered both . The octopus was also so tender and delicious. Jay’s fresh roll is probably going to be a go-to nonnegotiable when I come back. Not a single bad thing I could say about any of it. The owner knows what’s good, quality of fish, combination of ingredients, right amount of garnish. The price was also SUCH a great deal. My mom and I looked at each other and said “wait what?” We were expecting to pay more because the quality and taste of the sushi was top tier. Thank you Kiwa for the wonderful service and delicious food!! My new fave go-to sushi spot in Tampa
