This has been a staple on Capital Drive for decades. The original owners have since sold it and a new ownership now runs the restaurant. A lot of the nostalgic metal signs which once donned the ceiling have been taken down, but some still remains. The menu has changed a little with the addition of Hook’s Fish & Chicken to the menu, but their giant burgers, classic sundaes, malts and ice cream that it has been reknowned for are still there. The chicken nuggets are very good and the new “secret” sauce for the chicken tenders has a nice zing too it on top of a delicious flavor. The indoor seating is no longer there, but a number of picnic tables have been added for outdoor seating. You can now pay by debit versus bring a “cash only” joint for so many years.

This meal was freshly cooked, portioned sufficiently & super tasty. I shared it & still couldn’t finish it. I’ll be back as soon as I need to figure out a satisfying meal.

This was my first visit, the wait was horribly long but I won’t complain. In my eyes, that’s an indication that the food must be great seeing as since they are a to-go spot. Ice cream was great and so was the service. Will be returning soon.

$6.75 for a hot dog drenched in some type of spicy sauce (including the bun) is ridiculous! Not to mention risking one’s life driving down Capitol to get there!!

The service was slow. Only two workers The custard was good with wide variety of toppings but the jalapeño poppers were delicious.

We got a buy one get one free quart. Got one chocolate and one vanilla. The chocolate one is edible but has a mild almost diesel flavor to it that isn’t pleasant. We threw out the whole quart of vanilla….it tasted like it had iron and plastic in it. We tried to doctor it up with toppings, put it in our coffee, etc etc to no avail. It tastes truly horrible. The dog wouldn’t even lick the bowl clean from the vanilla. If my dog won’t even eat it…what’s the point. Fries were good but we won’t be back.
