If you’re looking for good food, good drinks, and a vibe in DC, I highly recommend Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley. From the moment we walked in, the location felt lively and welcoming with gorgeous photo opportunities making the perfect spot for a night out in the city.

We started with the sampler trio and every bite delivered. The deviled eggs were creamy with yummy shrimp, the perfect kick of spice from the lamb chops plus they were tender and flavorful, and the crab cake was packed with crab and seasoned beautifully.

For entrées, we ordered the salmon and the jerk chicken, paired with classic sides: mac & cheese, collard greens, and sweet potatoes. Everything tasted like elevated comfort food! Rich, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The mac & cheese was top tier!

Of course, the drinks sealed the deal. I had a lemon drop and my guest had an old fashioned, which I loved the presentation of. Both were perfectly balanced and strong enough to remind you you’re in good hands at the bar.

The service was attentive, friendly, and on point, making the entire experience even better.

Overall: 10/10 — great location, amazing flavors, strong cocktails, and excellent service. Definitely a spot I’d return to when I’m in DC again.

Every-time I visit this restaurant I have exemplary service, consistently delicious food and just a good time!
The music is great, the staff collectively checks on you and the food comes out quick! I came in starving, my appetizer hit the table in less than 10 minutes! I really love this place because it is so hard for restaurants to keep food tasting the exact same and they have it down packed ! I’ve been here atleast 6 times and I’ve ordered countless items. The food is worth every dollar ! Go try! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits AND crab cake !

My husband and I visited Kitchen + Kocktails for a Saturday lunch at 12:30 p.m. While there were clearly open tables, the restaurant required an online reservation, which felt a bit pretentious for that time of day. Upon being seated, we noticed dried food on the chairs—an unfortunate first impression for such a stylish venue.

Our server, Sheena, greeted us warmly and offered tap or sparkling water before directing us to the menu via QR code. We decided on the chicken and waffles, and she recommended upgrading to their specialty flavors. We opted for the cinnamon roll and peach cobbler waffles, priced at $33. My husband also added candied yams to his meal.

During our meal, a photographer came by to take pictures at the table, which were later offered for purchase at $25 each—a nice touch for some, though it felt a bit commercialized.

The food itself was very good. The chicken was well seasoned and crispy, while the waffles, though plain on their own, paired beautifully with the toppings for a balanced, flavorful bite that wasn’t overly sweet. The music started off as a pleasant mix of R&B and rap, setting a lively brunch vibe, but about an hour in, the volume increased dramatically, with more rap selections turning the space into more of a club atmosphere and making conversation difficult.

Overall, despite a few pretentious touches and cleanliness issues, the food and energy made for an enjoyable experience. I would visit again—perhaps at a different time of day for a more relaxed vibe.

This place is fantastic! Very elevated Soul Food that does not disappoint. The atmosphere is just right, music was poppin’. I had a blackberry Margarita which was probably the best Margarita I have tasted. I had the Cajun Stuffed Salmon, which was stuffed with collard green dip and topped with Lump Crab in a delicious white wine sauce, all sitting atop a mound of dirty rice. Jasmine was a great host and treated us very well. I will not miss an opportunity to come here again! DC is very lucky to have this spot.

Kitchen and Kocktails DC was really good. I enjoyed my first time experience. Our waitress Camira was truly amazing. Her recommendations for the food were amazing. I had the lamb with mash potatoes. My friend had the shrimp and grits. We had wildbeeey lemon drops. They were delicious. They even come with a lemon head. The lemon head with the lemon drop enhanced the experience. Camira as very accommodating. My friend can’t have mayonnaise based dressings. Camira bought out an Asian sesame seed dressing which actually tastes better than the Aoli that came with the salmon bites. We also had the trinity egg rolls which included collard greens with turkey, Mac and cheese and yams. They were so delicious. Overall it was a great experience.

We had a lot of fun here. If you want to celebrate an occasion in a place that has good vibes, good drinks, and a IG worthy backdrop, go here. We were a large group and we ordered a lot of different coxktails. No one was disappointed. However, I want to talk about the MOCktails. I loved that they remembered us who don’t always want to imbibe,, but still wanted to toast. They had a nice selection of unique deinks. I ordered a fun cotton candy – lemonade duo that was cute, a little sassy, and alcohol-free. I really appreciate that I wasn’t left with ordering another virgin daiquiri or some other basic drink. I took off a star because the music was really loud. Normally I wouldt mind, but it was a sit-down brunch and we could barely hear each other. But to each his own. The drinks were fire.

We had friends in town and decided to go for Saturday brunch. There was a lively energetic vibe and the hostess team welcoming. It was hard to hear our server over the music but our order was correct and didn’t take long. I wanted a flight of margaritas but they only serve them frozen—so that didn’t work out. I ended up with the blackberry margarita, which was pretty good. I had the fried porkchop with Asian Hennessy sauce, deviled eggs + shrimp, and fried pickles. Food was good but a bit over salted. Overall a good place to try for the ambience and meeting new people, but the music level makes it hard to have conversations.

First time here visiting from Alabama. Waiter “Jermaine” was very detailed and helpful. He made sure my aunt and I had everything we needed. The food & drinks were good and strong. I loveee the Mac n cheese. Peach cobler was not so great. Nice atmosphere and loved the music being played.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food was outstanding—rich, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with intention and care. Every bite felt thoughtful and indulgent without being overdone.

What truly set this visit apart, though, was the hospitality. The chef personally made and hand-delivered a special peach cobbler dessert for my friend and me, and it was phenomenal. Warm, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable—one of those desserts you’re still thinking about long after the table is cleared. That personal touch elevated the entire evening and made us feel genuinely valued as guests.

Kitchen + Kocktails isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience food, service, and heart. If you’re looking for amazing cuisine paired with next-level hospitality, this is it. We will absolutely be back.
