Kitchen 95 is truly a hidden gem in the Overland area! I love their crispy chicken lunch box and crispy chicken nuggets — both are absolutely delicious.
The flavors are authentic and bring a real taste of Taiwanese cuisine. The portions are generous, and the food is always fresh and satisfying.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to try genuine Taiwanese food in St. Louis!

Tried two dishes, beef stew and general tso. The foods are pretty good, more authentic than your average take out. I would go here get their authentic food. General tso wasn’t good. Way too sour.
Edit: come back, my biggest complain here is the food taking way too long. I was the only one here and it took over 30 mins to get the food. They need to priotize their dine in customer.

0/5 stars (it wouldn’t let me do zero so I have a 1)
I really wanted to like this place! Found hair in our food and had to show to three people that there was hair and that it wasn’t ours. The woman chef, approached us with an attitude when she asked about it. My sister in law’s porkchop was pink and the chef said “of course it will have less flavor and be more dry if you cook it more because that cooks out all the flavor, it’s supposed to be pink because it’s steamed so of course!”… she never said anything about the flavor, just the color (although the texture was off). There was a man in the back coughing his head off. Clearly no hair nets being worn. The water pitcher they brought out had a discolored ring along the top and a chip on the front so it spilled on the table when pouring. I’m usually pretty easy going about mistakes and don’t complain about much at restraints but the health violations and ATTITUDE made the place intolerable. None of us 4 ate much of the food because it wasn’t that good.
Place is dead for a reason. I was trying to bring them some new business by bringing family. Never again.

The combination of being a small family business, short staffed, and making ALL dishes FRESH – you can expect a little longer wait for food unless your order ahead but I wouldn’t penalize them for that. The food was amazing. Authentic flavor and she was very friendly and accommodating while doing everything and all meals by herself. Definitely a local gem

The restaurant was initially operated under Chef Ma’s kitchen before this new owner bought it 3 years ago. It was changed to Kitchen 95. The restaurant was a family run business. The parents cooked the food in the kitchen and 2 children were helping out front. The food was typical Chinese with few Taiwanese dishes. The decor was simple and the place was clean. The 3 cup chicken and szechuan beef with leek were flavorful and delicious. The wanton noodle soup was luke warm and average at best. The service was slow. If you are in a hurry, it might be better to order advance so you don’t have to wait for a long time. The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. This is probably not the best place to take your date out, but this is a great place for good Chinese food.

EVERYTHING ELSE:⭐⭐1/2
Hear me out! First time here and on a first date. I hadn’t gone thru the reviews but wanted to try a new spot.
Open seating. Small dining area but it’s fine. What sucked was WALKING OUTSIDE TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING TO WASH MY HANDS before eating. That was bananas. It was 11 degrees out mind you.
We were brought out paper plates and plastic cups prior to the good coming out…refer to pic. The food was brought out in to-go containers which turned out to be pretty convenient.
General Tso’s Chicken: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Flavorful, fresh chicken pieces served with steamed white rice and a couple of FRESH broccoli florets. We asked for more.
Chicken and Chili Sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tender crispy Chicken pieces on top of a bed of slaw drizzled with a really good and spicy chili sauce. I’ve never had anything like this before.

Visiting for a work trip and decided to try this place out. First off, if you are expecting your typical chinese take out, this is not the place for you. This is a family run Taiwanese restaurant and while some of the items are familiar by name the taste is very different, not in a bad way. We ordered egg rolls, crab rangoon, house fried rice, honey chicken, general tso chicken, and chili chicken stir fry i think it was. Everything was very good. The crab rangoon was very different from almost every chinese place ive had, it was more creamy and garlicy. The egg rolls were smaller but super crispy. The sweet n sour sauce they serve it with is actually not very sweet as i was expecting. The chicken dishes were really tender, it seemed like they were chicken thighs? Service was a little slow to get our food made, but like i said, this is a family run business with the kids helping out. Definitely worth visiting! Thanks guys

Simply hidden gem if you like Asian food! With parking around the building, there are only about 10 tables inside. Mom and daughter managing it all. But the food!!! Flavorful, fresh, delicious!
Beef shank was exactly how I imagined it with plenty of beef, side of rice and ginger to the taste.

Ordered delivery. Food came hot. The 4 adults and two kids all loved the food (very rare this happens). Every dish was delicious. In particular, I loved their version of 3 cup chicken.

We love Kitchen 95! It feels like you’re in a family member’s kitchen with someone who really wants to feed you well. We’ve had several items from the menu across three visits and nothing is less-than-stellar here. Standouts include: stir-fry eggplant with basil, chili wontons, cold sesame noodles and any of her cold appetizers.
