We ordered a bottle of wine and chose the three course option. For apperizers we ordered the Kitchen salad and the crispy cheese-steak spring rolls. The rolls were awesome and the salad was crisp and refreshing. For the mains we ordered the everything crusted salmon amd the fettuccine bolagnese. The bolagnese sauce was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the everything crust gave it a nice flavor and crunch. For dessert, we ordered the coconut cake, a must, and the chocolate brownie.
Kitchen offers amazing food, incredible service by the staff, and a nice atmosphere. We are definitely coming here more often and so should you.
I hate leaving reviews like this, but I want to warn first-timers and tourists to be careful at Kitchen. We went in expecting a nice fine-dining experience, but the whole vibe was off. The restaurant inside was dark and the service was surprisingly dismissive.
Our waitress pushed the “specials”, but none of them had prices. When asked, she was vague and acted like we were bothering her for asking. The real shock came with the bill—they had automatically added a 20% “gratitude” charge without saying a word. There was no mention of this policy on the menu, nor was it communicated verbally. When we asked about it, the waitress said it is their policy to charge every table tip. We saw other table writing on their check—presumably adding their tips—so it felt like we were being singled out. During our inquiry process, the waitress got hostile by saying things like she has other customers to attend…We ended up having them remove the auto-charge and we still paid a 15% tip because we aren’t “non-tippers,” but we left a note explaining why we were unhappy. The manager did call us later, but there was no apology for the attitude or the lack of transparency.
The food was good, but not exceptional enough to justify the prices or the experience. There are many better restaurants in West Palm Beach that are upfront, professional, and genuinely value their guests. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.
Although it’s a bit expensive and some of the clientele like us have (gracefully) aged (!), expect great service.
Highlights:
-crab cakes
-Caesar Salad
-Eggplant salad
-Fresh grilled fish (Branzino)
AND, of course, the coconut cake is a perfect end to the meal. One is plenty for a few forks. It goes fast, though.
The food- all dishes ordered were bland, tasteless and small portioned. And really charging for slices of bread ?
Sad to say after all this time, I and my party will not be returning. They have expanded and lost their verve. Too bad.
I chose Aliza’s Israeli salad and sauteed curly spinach as sides and was finished before my husband, who ordered the same thing, was halfway through.
We split the giant piece of coconut cake to finish a fantastic meal. There is lemon curd in the cake resting on a plate of raspberry coulis. Worth every calorie.
They have a very small parking lot with complimentary valet service.
Don’t misjudge this strip mall diamond. It’s top of our list to return to on our next trip.
