I read a lot of the recent reviews but I definitely feel different. I took me and my wife today on valentines day and it was perfect!! Great atmosphere, everyone was very friendly. The bartender was doing a great job for being one woman taking care of the whole bar. Things were clean and the food was PERFECT!! Thanks team for making my valentines day perfect!

If you want delicious food, fun atmosphere with entertainment this is your place. The cost was very reasonable for what you get. We did go for lunch so I’m sure the lunch price is different than the dinner meal. The chef was very entertaining and interactive with his guest. The restaurant was nicely set up for a quiet couples date night, to smaller or large groups. I would recommend giving it a try, we will definitely be back.

Delicious food!!! I got the hibachi steak and shrimp. Great service and a great show! It’s hibachi so if you’ve seen one show you’ve seen most. They have NOODLES with their hibachi experience!!! Not all places have that. The ambiance is is better than others I’ve been to. Feels modern and very good for a date night. I don’t live near this location but I’d definitely go back. Kobe is a close second.

Hibachi stir fry is really good here. I’m use to mushrooms in the veggies which wasn’t included. Not impressed with the sushi. Much better options elsewhere. It’s a great and entertaining dining experience with high quality food to choose from. This would be a five star restaurant if the sushi rice was softer and served more wasbi with sushi orders. They also don’t have spicy yum yum sauce. The ginger salad and soup is excellent!

The drinks were very good. The food was okay. The chef at our table was very personable and cooked our food to order. Be prepared for a noisy experience. One of the chefs was hitting the grill (part of the experience) with with his cooking utensil; at times it sounded like a construction zone.

Restaurant is a beautiful structure from the outside. Inside is nice as well. The service we had was great from both the cook and the waiter. The food was above average for what I would expect from a Japanese restaurant. I had the New York strip and the shrimp, which were both excellent. The salad and the soup were also good. We also ordered sake that came out piping hot. Great selection of drinks as well as food. Also our cook had a few new things I haven’t seen before at a Japanese restaurant!

Excellent food and service. We did not have to wait like some other Japanese steak houses. Our server was very good. Ethan was our server. He was very polite. An impressive young man. Working two jobs to get ahead before he takes on the bigger challenges in life. I was really impressed by his story. Come enjoy the food. I like this steakhouse better than Kyoto’s Japanese Streak House in St. Charles. KiTaro’s is more modern, cleaner, and a much nicer atmosphere. Don’t go there. Come to O’Fallon for KiTaro’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Our dinner last night was the best experience yet!!! The food was absolutely delicious, the service way great, and the entertainment was excellent!!! I had the combination of a filet and teriyaki chicken. The other combination is filet and Mahi Mahi. If you like mixed drinks, I highly recommend the Green Dragon!!!

This was my first visit to Kitaro after hearing about it for years. Overall good experience and I will be back.
Positives first: The building itself is structurally beautiful. Our server was friendly and personable. The food came out quickly and without any unwanted surprises. The sushi was fantastic and at a great price during lunch.
Negatives: The building was dirty. There were greasy finger prints all over the front door (not a good way to start) but the worst part is how disgusting dirty the ceiling and light fixtures are. When you have a beautiful building people look around . . . They may not like to have visible dust and dirty that looks like it could fall on your table.
The server while friendly was hard to get back to our table once food was out. Including drink refills and getting our check to us. This may be a scheduling issue rather than the servers issue because he seemed to have 5-7 tables at lunch. I never saw the server slouching!

Highly recommended hibachi place. Very good for group outings. Your chef gives a personal touch and keeps the experience very entertaining. Do checkout for happy hour specials during weekdays. The place is usually crowded so make sure you book in advance or reach there early.
All in all it’s a complete package of ambience, food and a fun experience.
